Adult woman throws temper tantrum because hubby won't take her to the lake.

For the cabin question, if the worst I ever had to deal with was some change of plans and then some needling to try and wind me up, I’d take the man. I’ve had the worst that people who know you well and who you love can say to you and I managed to not throw a tantrum, so I’m pretty certain no stranger could do much worse.

She obviously doesn’t act like this in public (otherwise there would be no reputation to ruin with her job, family, or friends) and manages to turn her tantrum on and off as needed, so it’s obvious she’s not been provoked too badly.

I’ve lived with someone who refuses to act like an adult when they can get away with it and it’s miserable.

Where’s the evidence that this takes place? And to what degree?

Regardless, I bet it pales in comparison to what this guy just pulled.

No, but I get the sense some people thing relationships are competitions in which one side wins. It’s sad.

The evidence is in the tape. She acknowledges it. He tells her that now she is going to go and post and text everyone that he is a bad guy, like she always does, and she says yes, because he is being mean. He goes on to repeat that she does she like that all the time, and she doesn’t deny it at all. To what degree? He doesn’t have to match her exact degree of anything. That is senseless.

Guess she better step her game up.

"A wife who was filmed by her husband having a temper tantrum in their car has hit back at her partner and said she is filing for divorce after just 14 months of marriage.

The video of Whitney Mongiat, 30, kicking and screaming in the front seat of the car after her husband said he can’t take her to the lake on a hot Saturday, has been seen across the world after it went viral this week."

It’s two people who suck at marriage deciding to do so in front of the world.

Breaking news?

Sure two wrongs don’t make it right, but you reap what you sow. We could play the colloquilism games all day long.

and I’d like to add that two sickies don’t make a wellie.

I’ve seen worse. She’s obviously a little drunk. Big deal. I think a have a soft spot in my heart (head?) for slightly crazy chicks anyway. What does that say about me? I’ll have to ask my therapist.

Awww, don’t be so hard on yourself, you’re not a bad person. You’re just a skeevy perv. C’mere to mama and lemme make it all better.

Ha! I take offense to skeevy. Perv? Busted.

Welcome to the SDMB, Girlundone. We do not allow personal insults (other than in the forum known as the BBQ Pit).

Please don’t do this again.

Apologies…I actually thought I was in the pit…but I’m guessing you’ve heard that before.

Schism, I’m glad you weren’t offended. I lack tact. It’s true.

No, it’s not. A status update to her friends which no one really cares about does not compare to a video uploaded on the Internet that goes viral.

I’m not really trying to defend her, as her behavior was bad enough, but it’s just not even on the same level of nastiness as his.

That’s just stupid.

Of course a status update to her friends isn’t the equivalent to a YouTube video. He stepped up the game! She thought she could humiliate him with her childish tattling and he showed her how it’s done. Look, I know you are struggling to come up with hot button passes for this emotional wreck but simply declaring something stupid doesn’t just wipe out the facts. The facts are that when two grown ups decide to a t lie children, crying “no fair! You poked me harder than I poked you” is just silly.

Act like children… Posting from phone.

They’re both pathetic excuses for adults.

As usual around here, I’m amazed by how many are eager to engage in various contortions to make the male automatically the at-fault party and make his offenses worse than the female’s, in any conflict between members of opposite sexes (and I’m female).

Now I’m curious (but not curious enough to watch the whole video to see if this was addressed). Why was the woman in the vehicle? Before she got in, did the guy say that he was going to take her to the lake, or did he say that he wanted to go get his tires rotated? If he told her that he was going to take her to the lake or over to her friends’ house or whatever, that’s one thing. But if she knew that he was going to go get his tires rotated, and got in anyway, that’s quite another.

So, you can be arsed to watch it yourself, but you’d like us to take the assignment of typing up a transcript for you? LOL!

The lake trip is a plan for the future; he does refuse to stop at the store so she can buy cigarettes though.

Hey, apparently some people actually watched the whole damn tantrum. I was just hoping that one of them remembered if this was mentioned. I wouldn’t wish typing up that shit on most people. I can think of a few people who deserve to have to do it, though.

The whole “not stopping for cigs” is what got to me. He was basically telling her “you’re in my power, you can’t do SHIT unless I let you” and that set off all sorts of creepy alarms in my brain. This wasn’t just an argument between two bratty adults now, it was one person who was being way too controlling of the other person. And yeah, I’d feel the same way if the sexes were reversed.

That was typed with a glint in the eye. I’m sorry if it didn’t translate.

Yes, the person driving a vehicle is in control and has responsibilities.

I don’t know where you live but there isn’t a corner store every block that sells cigarettes in m my neighbourhood and I live in the city. Maybe he did eventually stop for smokes, don’t make the assumption just because in the span of the video, a store “SHOULD” of be there and because he didn’t stop, he’s an abusive husband. Looked pretty rural to me.
