Ageing up in the MMP

Oh well — why not.
Especially since it was Doggio who put it over the top.

I say, Old Chap, why don’t you get soaked?

Happy Sunday!

Up way too early for a Sunday morning. My bladder woke me shortly after 4 and I’ve been up since.

It’s a dark and chilly 45 degrees outside. Supposed to be cloudy and rainy with a high of 59.
We turned on the heat yesterday.

Lots to do today.
Whether or not it will get done is another story.
Thinking about giving Ripple a bath since he gets snipped tomorrow. He’s not really dirty though. I have to remember to take up his food and any stray treats tonight, no eating after 11 pm for him.
I’ve been preparing him by telling him he is going to go get his balls cut off. He smiles and wags his tail. For some reason that expression makes my son grumpy. My son, however, is amused at the thought of Ripple banging around in a cone. I’m not. He sees a klutzy dog, I see stuff getting knocked over and bruised shins. Depending on how it goes, I may buy him a collar.

I’m hoping to be able to get some stuff done without Ripple’s help tomorrow. It would be nice to be able to walk across the yard without him trying to steal my shoes off my feet, or do laundry without him trying to grab something out of the basket and run off with it.
I love my baby boy, but it’s like having a toddler around. I know he’ll outgrow a lot of his naughtiness, eventually.

Yay for a full night’s sleep!!! I’m still in bed because it’s still dark, but I’m rested. I’ve got a few chores to do today and I should plan a real supper - maybe buy and rotiss a chickie??

No matter. Happy Sunday!!!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 60 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 87 and N.O.S. for the day. The big plan of the day is to deheathenate. Power is back at the church house, YAY! Vestry will meet right after service to the next steps in our disaster response. N.O.L. shall be leftovers from yestiddy. Also need to grab steaks outta da freezer as tomorrow is men’s night over to the church house. This shall also be a chill afternoon.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy demands sustenance. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Up, caffeinating and getting ready to go heathenate.

Happy Sunday!

‘Tis sunny and a predicted high of 52. My kind of weather. Going to the local market at the train station. It’s called a French market but it doesn’t sell toast, fries, or berets.

I got up about 7:20, tended to Higgs, showered, dressed, and went to fetch breakfast from BK for **FCD **and me - he’s still crazy busy. While out, I gassed up my car and stopped for a chicken that will be rotissed for supper.

As soon as I finish breakfasting and reading the Sunday funnies, I’ll clean the critter fountain and (dammit) dust. Since I’m nice, I’ll wait to vacuum - some people sleep in… sheesh!

That game was exhausting for everyone. The critters let me sleep till 0745.:dubious:
Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off today. Making my first pot of slow cooker chili of the season.

FCM, I’m dusting and vacuuming today ,too. GMTA

“I’m going to be* tutored*!”

I vacuumed yesterday.
Although you’d never know it by looking at the carpet today.
Actually, I vacuum almost everyday, sometimes twice.

However, I am going to dust today. I should do that more often but I hate to dust. Everytime I dust I say I’m going to get rid of every flat surface in the living room, but then I realize flat surfaces do have a purpose and having to dust them is a fair tradeoff.

I’ve cleaned out the fridge. Nothing to throw out, but I put the groceries in all willy-nilly yesterday and they needed to be put in their proper places.

Critter fountain is cleaned and refilled.

Dusting is easily my most hated chore, and I’m not sure why. It’s not like it’s difficult. I just hate doing it. So I’ll get to it shortly.

Very dreary and chilly out. I’m glad for the chill, but little sun would be nice.

Good sleep two nights in a row. Something is going on.

I need to go to the grocery store to get something to cook today. I don’t know what except it will not be beef. Our filets were easily the best ever last night but I have had enough beef for a few days.

Other than shopping and cooking I have nada on the agenda. Maybe just sloth the rest of the day.

Rainy day. I sat out with Ripple for a while but much too damp and chilly to stay out for long.
I’ve got a bad case of the sleepies. Ripple is finally worn out so I think I will join him in a nap.

So it turns out infusing gin with strawberry and rhubarb was a decent plan. Girly pink cocktails at mine? I promise not to inflict sweet cornbread on anyone except Flytrap.

While everyone’s telling me how to many it properly, anyone have a good recipe that doesn’t involve [del]sugar[/del] buttermilk? It’s not very easy to come by here, and my American baking book recipe includes it.

The storm finally gave up in the early hours of this morning, the weather’s back to only usual standards of wet and grey. I’ve still been in most of the day though, bottling pink gin and starting off some sauerkraut.

The guy with my bees didn’t call me, he said he would if there was a problem, so I’m not worried. Turns out I couldn’t go check on 'em today anyway, 'cos the road’s closed.

Here is a recipe with out buttermilk. I’ve not eaten it, so I have no idea how good it is.

Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) says of the above recipe, “That’s a lot.”
Here is hers:
1 cup cornmeal
1/4 cup flower
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
2 cups buttermlik
425F for 18-22 minutes.

Did you look through the ingredients of that one?
snigger

I’ll give you a clue; ready the tar and feathers… :stuck_out_tongue:

“Optional” That’s the way Northerners make it.

I believe we own a vacuum; the OW says she saw one lately at least. But we do have 3 shop-vacs so I guess that’s at least something.

Ah, no — no weaseling out of it. I already have my plane ticket and supplies packed. :stuck_out_tongue:
