Anarchists! You forgot us friendly, peaceable, anarchists. Mind you, we don’t have a party or seek votes, and many of us are of the armchair variety, but if you’re covering the ideological spectrum, we’re here, in many varieties. And in the SDMB, too, though some have gone quiet of late.
Rhino. We used to anyway.
Loved that party. Especially their election promise to change driving on the right to driving on the left. To ease the transition, it would be done in stages, first with trucks…
Where does a rhino drive? Anywhere he wants to.
The Rhinos were a hoot! Promising that if they were elected, they’d repeal the law of gravity, tear down the Rocky Mountains so as to give Alberta more hours of daylight, and similar.
I will drop this video from a Rhino candidate in the last federal election describing his intentions from a politically anarchistic angle. He’s also a youtuber of art history who collaborates with the CBC. Check out his stuff if that tickles you.
Ah, the good old days. When politicians had a sense of humour.
Moderating:
I’ve been letting this thread continue, despite reservations that lead me to consider more severe actions in September. Since then, I’ve seen pretty direct personal attacks by @wolfpup, @uzi, and @Biffster.
Almost all of whom have also had mod notes or actual warnings for this behavior in the thread.
I am faced with the realization that if I warn or threadban all three of you it would likely be the end of the discussion. So, I’m giving all three of you (and the rest of the posters of course) a chance to correct the trends in this thread.
Future personal attacks, even comparatively mild ones are very likely to end up with threadbans since Warnings and Notes have not had a lasting effect. Alternately, I may close the thread, with the option to re-open it in the Pit.
If you want to have a continuing discussion here in Politics & Elections and not The BBQ Pit, everyone should be much more mindful to attack the post, not the poster.
First time I’ve seen a warning, but I don’t always read every post. Thanks for the heads up. ![]()

Interesting tidbit with regard to Ukraine’s recent actions blowing up a whole bunch of Russian data centers …
Cybersecurity analysts and observers noted that because Alberta separatist bot campaigns, U.S. Republican-aligned networks, and German AfD support groups frequently routed traffic through this precise Yandex infrastructure, the outages simultaneously neutralized large portions of the automated online push for Alberta’s separation.
Odd that.
Now it appears that elections Alberta is blocking third party advertisers from scrutinizing the vote. Only political parties are now allowed who ask just happen to be pro Canada.
Not even trying to appear impartial.
