This is exactly what I was looking for! I have a character who had all the parts of a set but one, and I’m sick of playing her and I wanted to see what the set could do.

I think my biggest complaint about Diablo 2 is the “set” items are too damn hard to get. Were it up to me, you’d be more likely to find parts of a set that you’re carrying.
By the way: “Mule”? What’s that? How do you do it?
I think Mules are characters created specifially for carrying items, which must mean Shadowmaster is capable of swapping items between characters.
BTW: I’ve been using the last Jamella editor but it’s not completely compatible with 1.09. I’ve been playing my Assassin and Druid without it.

Y’know, I’ve heard rumors that there are actually some sets other than Cathan’s which have a ring. Is this true?
Seriously, I’m just a tad annoyed at having found what seems like my fiftieth Cathan’s Seal, at least, when I’ve never once found any other set ring. Are all the rest of them really that much less likely to drop?

“Muling” is taking one item of importance to a level1 item holding character. The “mule” in this case is the Level1 Character meant specifically just to hold items.
In shadowmaster program there is no real way to “mule”, meaning opening 2 characters and moving items between the two. This is how I do it using the shadowmaster program. I either export an item I found to a bevy of items that were exported in an organized file system or simply copy an item, then open a new/mule character and then paste it to the mule character.
The first post of this big thread made by me also directs you to some links that can help you play single player DII better.

Online CLOSED REALM muling is a much easier task to accomplish. You can do this by playing in a game that is passworded for at least FIVE minutes. By having this minimum game requirement, the CLOSED REALM will remember the game for a short period of time, thus allowing you to re-enter the game to mule.
The best way to do this on a CLOSED REALM is play a lvl1 character, doing the Den of Evil quest and getting the Cold Plains waypoint. This can all be done in about 10minutes on average, quicker if you are doing this over and over. This will usually be a five minute affair and thus allowing you to create a game that is “muleable”. But before you drop any of your goodies, leave the game, and try to re-enter it… Remember the name, remember the password. If you do re-enter the game, then it is safe to mule in that game. However, I’m not giving a 100% guarantee that it’ll be perfectly safe. BattleNet is laggy sometimes, it has hiccups, screws you over and more. This technique i give is great, but don’t come knocking my door saying you lost all your items.

Thanks again Voltaire, you are a very considerate doper for all those items you dropped for me last weekend. May your mules fill their freed up spaces with better items through the karma you have rightfully earned. (Now I need to make some mules!) Although most of my characters are in US West, I still go on US East first and see if there are any dopers out there on the sdmb game with the cecil password (for all you newbies out there). Keep checking in and see if one or a couple of us dopers are there killing those scrawny little monsters…
Now everybody, hold your breath and see if 1.10 comes out today…

Well, there was a 1.10 patch released yesterday. It’s for Warcraft III though.
well, crap. I’ve tried playing WCIII online, but I’m just not any good at it. I’m too used to AoM and the walls and other defensive type formations…guess that’s just my style for now.
