All Diablo2 Talk here.........

The clonekiller is started: He’s named Boss_Og on the communal account. Anyone who wants can help level him: Stat points should be put 2dex3str, for now, and skill points can be spent on Prayer, Conviction, or prerequisites for those. He’ll also want 4 points in Zeal and a few in Holy Shield, when he gets to that point. If I’m on on my regular account, of course, I’d be happy to enchant. Currently, he’s only at level 7, but I’m not the greatest at levelling chars. When he hits 50 or 60, he’ll be ready for Hell. Also please keep an eye out for a good resistance shield and a 3-socket knout or scourge for him.

Also, we want to burn in those Og mules one of these times. They’re all still set to expire.

I’ll burn in the mules eventually. I’ll do it in a game named SDMB99, so if someone wants to transfer, mule, or burn in their own mules feel free. It’ll probably be done during an overnight.

As for the clonekiller, could you be a little more detailed on where the stat points and skill points should be distributed and how high they should be taken? I have no experience with a pally with the exception of a hammerdin, but if I decide to level the clonekiller and feel comfortable playing him for 5 or 6 hours, it would not be unreasonable to get 25- 30 levels and I’m not sure you would want that many points just added to strength and dex without adding to life.

Right, I should perhaps have been clearer on that. Strength will depend on his equipment. The shield will take between 69 and 148, depending on what sort it is, and his weapon will probably need at least 82. A reasonable number would probably be 115 for strength, which would let him equip the Orphan’s Call helm. Dexterity should always get about two points per level, since we need to keep blocking up. Once strength is at about 115, it should be 3vit/2dex. For skill points, both Prayer and Conviction should be maxed, which should use up rather a number of levels.

I might have some interest in that

I just found a +3 curses circlet if you would like some skills in that area and a Ribcracker if anyone is interested in that as a weapon. I hadn’t realized how cool that staff was until I looked at it today!

Say…about this communal account…any one want to email me the name and pass word for it?

I’m still picking my way through this thread, so forgive me if this has been answered already, but what other gear will Boss_Og need (helm, belt, ammys, charms, etc.)? I do Pit runs almost exclusively, so I’m always turning up items that might be of use.

For that matter, if there’s a particular unique, charm, type of rare, or socketable item that anyone’s looking for, send me an e-mail (or post it here) and I’ll be happy to save anything I find. I also have a lot of ilvl 85 grand charms, for those that like to reroll the stats with pgems.

Yes I am…thank you again!

I thought Larzuk only puts one socket in the weapon/armor…what’s the straight dope on Larzuk and his socketing habit? One socket, max sockets, or random sockets? Everytime I use him, I get just one socket.
As for the commie mule, ask Chronos during a game when you pair up with his character. It would really be great if we had “shifts” for all of us to level this paladin up to the point where he would be on virtually the whole time…even Evil Death and Munch could contribute some time to this character.

As for set items jmizzou, a full set of Sigon’s always works for a melee character, and Milabrega’s isn’t bad either when the paladin is running through normal games. I would start there…I’m also guessing that +2 and +3 aura ammys (preferably with an additional modifer) would be nice to have, or an amulet (like Atma’s) that has amplified damage. Be on the lookout for a 3 socket knout or scourge (probably doing cow runs) so he can runeword it…(I forgot which runeword though) and probably the runes for that runeword…Chronos will probably add a few other items (maybe charms) that have resists.

But then again, I am the charm whore around here…I could always use them or reroll them. Come to think of it…I should have named YetiGrrl…CharmWhore. I called it!

Then you’ve only been socketing rare/unique/set items. Normal/magic items get the full amount.

Oh, and some explanation is in order regarding my whereabouts.

A few months ago I deleted everything from my harddrive DII-related. Finals were looming, and I was burning way too much time on the computer for non-school related activities. So with a few clicks of the button, I did away with my near-complete set collection (I had every set item except for the IK armor and some Tal’s items), and a massive unique collection.

I also had characters for each set, levelled up and skill-allocated to maximize their use. It was a fantastic computer game accomplishment. But that’s all gone.

So a few weeks ago, I was looking into getting a connection at home, and went to reinstall the game. Well, my CD-ROM drive crapped out, and I can’t do a thing (I’ve ordered a new one, but it’s a week away). I also don’t have an internet connection yet, but that’s minor.

Regardless, I won’t be on ladder anytime soon. But when I do, I’ll be more than willing to run mules and rushes for everyone.

Normal items get the full amount. Magic items in 1.09 had a 50/50 shot to be given 1 or 2 sockets. Has that changed for 1.10?

Speaking of muling items, I have Cathan’s ring/amulet/staff, Milbrega’s shield and crown, as well as the full Berserker set. Is there anyone I should give them to? They’re taking up quite a bit of room. I also have Iratha’s crown and gloves, though I’m using the former until I can acquire a Sol rune and a 2-socket helm.
Stupid El-dropping Countess…

Also, I’m still holding on to a 3-socket grand sceptre with +3 to blessed hammer, as well as a rare amulet with +2 cold skills (sorceress) on it; both just itching to find better homes, if someone wants them. I’m playing a paladin named Noobian, just let me know.

Finally, jmizzou, I’m more than willing to accept Guardian Angel, should it ever fall into your hands. I’m sure, though, that every paladin would say the same.

For Larzuk: If the item has any sockets already, he won’t do it. If it’s rare, unique, set, or crafted, he’ll add exactly one. If it’s magic, he’ll add either one or two (I think this is randomly determined). And if it’s not magical, he’ll add the maximum number the item can have, which is determined by both the item type and where/by whom it was dropped.

For the paladin’s equipment, the ideal gear would be the Orphan’s Call helm (green winged helm, I think it’s called Guillaume’s Face), a Black runeword knout or scourge (Thul Io Nef, I already have the Io), a high-resistance paladin shield (base of 30 or more resistance, and zero or four sockets for perfect diamonds), preferably with good blocking, and Goblin Toes boots. For the rest of his gear, he just needs some source of Open Wounds (a blood-crafted belt can work here), enough resistances (especially fire) to bring him to maxed in Hell, and possibly increased maximum fire resist or fire absorb. The Black, Guillaume’s, and Goblin Toes give him 100% crushing blow, the open wounds is to prevent healing, and all the rest is to keep him alive. He’ll probably need a lot of charms at first for resists and life, but as he levels and we find other items, he’ll outgrow most of them.

In 1.09 Larzuk gave 1 or 2 (50/50 shot, exactly, regardless of character/level/difficulty/phase of the moon) sockets for magical items. I thought I saw something that added more to magical in 1.10. Maybe that was the 3 flawless recipe. No?

MDSL I got a good claw for you, can’t remember the name but it’s something like Bul Cathos … starts with Bul’, don’t remember it really. Anyways its +2 all asn skills +1 martial arts and has very nice damage. Do you want it?

Also, if anyone get’s any Tal’s or MF gear I could really use it. I’ve been doing NM pindle runs with my sorceress because I can’t quite do hell yet, don’t have enough damage or somethin. Can’t seem to find any Baal games to level up in (most of them I end up going backwards in XP). I made a conc barb to level up in the mean time, and I’m really desperate for a weapon, still using a sabre that is like 15-30 at level 44.

“Hi, I’ve found the best assassin weapon in the game, do you want it?”

It’s Bartuc’s, BTW - Bul-Kathos is the two set swords and the ring.

Gambling… good…

Trying to find a necro ammy with + to summoning I got something I didn’t expect. A Highlord’s Wrath. I think there are several people that could use it…

Also, I have a 26 MF ammy, a 33 MF ammy and a Ptopazed 42% Tarnhelm for the MF sorc… whenever there is one.

Well shit if I know, I haven’t played long and I don’t know the value of anything.

I’ve got a +1 necro ammy if you want it. I’d love that Tarnhelm on my MF sorc if you’re not gonna be using it.

I’d add a Raven Frost to the list of items for the clonekiller paladin, primarily for the Cannot Be Frozen attribute.

Also, i’d suggest maxing zeal for that pally if you’re going to use zeal for cloning (which wouldn’t be my first choice either, but it’s your character).
My paladin is 78 (just leveled from cloning today) and is already a beast. I’ve gotten the clone down in around 1 minute, but i still chug a few pots in the beginning. I’m probably going to trade an anni or two off to top off his gear so that he’s tweaked to the max, since he still needs some more respectable items (a Beast Caddy, Gore Riders, and some better rings/ammy). He’s already packing the Black flail and has 90/95/90/90 resists in hell. If nobody else wants that highlord’s, i’ll certainly take it  , but i’ll let others get first dibs on it.

I also have a sorceress in the works, she’s only around 20 right now, hopefully i’ll be able to get her leveled sooner or later here (she’s already to the hell hellforge iirc, she just needs to get up to 25 so she can baal run effectively)

Okay! I’ll take that necro ammy and give you the Tarnhelm, Ryle. Do you want a magic find ammy too, or will you just use a + skill ammy? And theckhd, I’ll hand off the Highlords to you whenever I see you next.

I’m going to start a new character soon, I just have to figure out which type to make…

OK - Attenborough the pure summoner Druid is now burnt in on USWest and into Act II Normal. Any offers of rushes, equipment etc are welcome, but not until after the weekend as I’m away until Monday.

is this the place for newbie questions? i hope the grizzly veterans won’t mind much if i jump in and ask something like:

does lower resist help with bone spirit at all? thanks?
