All Diablo2 Talk here.........

Thanks to Ryle Dup and LarzX for helping with the Clone tonight. As I told them, I can usually get a Clone every other night or so, around 11 or midnight EST, for anyone who wants an Anni. With any luck, a few more days of Pit runs should give me better equipment, so the next time won’t take quite so long!

Don’t you mean Teeth for that, punha? I’m reasonably sure that Ice Blast is cold damage, not magic.

And we’ve got two regular clonehunters now? Sweet! Do you use the same methods as theckhd for finding them?

Meanwhile, the only easy piece of equipment my sorc is now looking for is Magefist gloves. Other than that, she could use a Occulus or Eschuta’s Temper along with a Lidless Wall or Visceratuant, a volcanic amulet, and any helm with +2 or better to fire skills. But none of that is urgent: I’ve now gotten Ball, Meteor, and Mastery maxed, so she’s starting to look like my old sorc in killing power. Just 18 more skill points…

And Larz, if you’re reading this, I have a 4-socket knout, if you want it for Heart of the Oak. It’s a little heavier than a flail, but you probably already have the stats for it anyway.

No worries. The club in question requires level 40-something, and that’s not going to happen for a while unless something gets co-ordinated.

If you’ve a lvl12 paladin, I found a 3-socket targe that might be useful. I’ll give it to the mule when I get the ammy.

As far as Clone killers go… I’ll see if I can get the community pally up to level 50 or 60 in the next couple of days. I’m pretty sure of the stat point development that you want, but I’m clueless on how you want the skill points allocated. I did see that you want to max Prayer and Conviction, but what other skills are supposed to get points… and in what order? Remember, I’ve never built a melee pally before, so I don’t have any idea what is normal.

And as far as equipment goes… we’ve got a lot of pieces of the lower level sets. We’ve got the Berzerker set (almost twice), and need one piece to have Cathan’s. What I want to do this afternoon is set up a low set mule just to get all the pieces together. If someone can come in and hold the game I’d appreciate it, just to make sure we don’t lose anything.

I’ve got the Angelic Sickle if nobody else has it. Not a great weapon, but it’s a good set for a low-level MF character who needs mana.

ED, I have been sticking things on the mules for you too. A helm and some other things that I can’t reacall at this early hour. :smack:

My Trapsin is clvl73 now and I’m just starting Hell. She does 2500 damage per lightning strike and like 500 per bolt. Good times. f

The only things that I really need are some +2 claws. I have plus ones at the moment, but I would like some more skills. I think I’m up to +6 right now, but I have plenty of space for more skill eq.

Thanks; I went through the mules today and saw them. I still don’t know how to get stuff onto my characters, though. I tried dropping the item, exiting the game and quickly rejoining but it didn’t work - the game disappeared (so it’s a good job I tried it with a TP scroll). I could use some instruction here.

To make the game stay you need to stay in it for a few minutes. I think it’s something like 5 minutes to stabalize a game. Then you can leave things on the ground and pick them up with your characters.

In other news, I added 2x +1 asn skills ammys, a +2 cold skills GC, and a +2 offensive auras ammy to the ammy mule.

I probably won’t be on b.net again until Monday or so. Have a good time!

:dubious:
You sure about that?

To reiterate what MDSL said… stay a few minutes in game before exiting. And a good practice is after you’ve waited what you think is long enough, exit the game without dropping anything then try to reenter. If it lets you then your cool and can start muling.

Of course if you type /f L, you’ll get a list of other Dopers. If it shows one or more of us on b.net… type /f m Hey! It’s me ED! Help me mule some stuff in this game!.. or whatever message you want to send. With two people in game, one can hold the game open while you pop back and forth.

Also, take your time while checking the mules. If you enter and leave games too often and too quickly you can get temporarily IP banned. This will last about 5 minutes and you won’t be able to connect with b.net until it’s over.

Once ED gets his stuff off the mules, I’ll start burning them in overnight.

Bah. Of course I meant the GC is +1 cold skills. I really should preview at some point. :smack:

Normal? Who said anything about normal? When I built the first one of these, I didn’t have any idea what was normal, either. But I have a mind of metal and gears, so I figured it out from the formulae. And really, killing the hardest monster in the game at level 55 isn’t normal, either.

But anyway. I played him a bit last night, too, and he now has 4 points in Zeal, which will be his main attack (4 points gives the max of 5 swings, so more is not necessary). When it becomes available, he can use a few points in Holy Shield (no more than 4), and one each in Vengeance and Conversion. After that, his combat skills will be done. On offensive aurae, nothing but maxed Conviction and one point in each prerequisite. On defensive aurae, maxed Prayer, nothing in Resist Fire, Resist Lightning, or Resist Cold, and one point each in everything else. For order, mostly just put points into new skills as they become available. Before level 30, any extra points go in Prayer, and after 30, extra points go in Conviction. At level 49, Conviction should be maxed, with Prayer coming soon afterwards, at which point the core build is finished and he’s ready to fight.
About the persistence of games: If a game is open for one minute or less, then it’ll last for one minute after the last person leaves. You can use this for transfers, but it’s risky, so you probably don’t want to do it for anything more valuable than Elds or so. If the game is open for five minutes or more, it’ll stay open for five minutes after the last person leaves. I usually wait six minutes, just to be sure. While you’re waiting, you can go kill Baal or the Countess or something, or do some gambling or cubing, or organize your rune collection, or whatever. If the game has been open for between 1 and 5 minutes, it’ll vanish immediately.

Another option is to mule in a public game. You and your mule both need some obscure random waypoint where you go to drop the stuff. This way, there’s less risk of the game vanishing, but of course there’s the risk that someone will find your stuff and swipe it. Personally, I’d rather just wait the five minutes.

Hey guys. I haven’t played in like forever, but I don’t want all my gear to go to waste. Some of it was originally from Yeti and Chronos and a few other Dopers, plus I found a few good things myself. I also have a crapload of runes and gems. I’ll be popping in to give stuff away on USWest. My username there is also sturmhauke.

Just so you know, there was a ladder reset, so all of your stuff is now in the non-ladder realm. I think everyone is playing ladder.

My sorc is lvl 74, doing 1K fball, 175 orb, ~4.5k meteor and in dire need of better gear. She’s reached the point where Baal runs don’t do a lot for her, but she has C+ gear at best. I’m looking to upgrade mostly her charms, which don’t do a hell of a lot for her res, and I have str to a base of 100 now, so I’d like to get a better res/life belt and armor. Ideally if anyone can make Splendor for the FCR, +skill, +MF and +res that’d be ideal, but honestly right now I’d be fine with a rhyme or ancients’ pledge. And of course once the res are up to a more respectable level I can take out her +dex +res ammy and put in a +skill one.

Chronos, I added the Sigon’s belt and gloves to the commie paladin, so to complete the set, he needs just the helm and shield…

I also rearranged the gems, runs and potions because some of you guys are slobs!

Well crap. Oh well, random folks will probably take it then.

Absolutely do that then. On my brief stint online, I received a good deal of help and gear from strangers. It’s the good guys out there that make the difference.

I’m building an avenger, which seems to be similar to your build, but I’m wondering about a couple of things. First, why so many points into Prayer? Is it to help with health regen with Meditation, or for healing with Holy Bolt? Second, why no points in Resist Fire/Lightning/Cold? They push up your Vengeance damage without increasing the mana cost and raise your max resists, too.

I can answer that for an avenger - because you don’t have enough points to go around. Those skills don’t raise the damage very high, and the max resists bonus is miniscule. Those are points much better spent maxing out Holy Shield. After that, I’d rather put them in the Resist All aura, as it’s better for D’’ (who does fire and lightning damage with his attacks) as well as parties. The damage bonus is lower than the others, but it diversifies your attack.
