I cannot find crap! My barb is now level 31 and killed the Ancients, but I don’t want to go to nightmare yet. I can’t find anything that is very good. No leech, no resists, no anything…
I’ve been mostly playing elemental druids. They’re pretty darn fun now. It’s nice to know that druid minions have been improved from the beta–they were almost useless. It’s nice to see my grizzly bear kicking ass and taking names now. I was almost feeling sorry for the little guy before I upgraded to 1.10 full. 
Besides that I played a little with a holy freeze paladin. Since it adds damage directly to your attacks like holy shock does, in addition to the pulse cold damage (again, like holy shock, except it slows opponents as well), you can really kick ass with them. It’s fun to walk into the Flayer Jungle, stand in the middle of a crowd of Flayers and just do nothing, while laughing at all the little bastards as they turn blue and die. 
I had an elemental druid in single player, but I got kinda bored with him.
My 1.10 char is a kick assassin. She is doing ok, though it took forever to kill duriel! I don’t have enough hp to take more than 1-3 hits from him! Shadow and merc are useless and so just a bit of a diversion. Might have helped if I had some leech, but I really haven’t found much of it and none on claws that I actually want 
The kicks really eat up mana though, hopefully I’ll be able to pick up some +mana items somewhere.
So just what is this world event? I had already gathered that it was connected to the Annihilus charm, but what’s this about a Diablo clone? And is this connected to the “Stones of Jordan sold to vendors”? And for that matter, is the “Stones of Jordan” counter common between the ladder and non-ladder on a realm? I was on ladder the other night, and there were already a few hundred sold, surely more than could have been found on the ladder in that time.
It’s all connected, Chronos. There’s tons of info over at dii.net regarding everything. It looks like the best thing to kill the Clone with is Berzerk (it has 95% immunity to everything except Magic).
I wish I could find one of you guys… well I found Snake Legs, but the connection dropped.
I still can’t find any decent equipment, my barb has gotten tp level 46 and hasn’t got the equipment or power to go further. I’m trying a Druid now. He’s up tp level 20.
Rocky the Elemental Druid continues into Act V Normal…
Act III was hilarious. I was using a Steel falchion, and every time I cast Fissure it was for free; I’d pay 15 mana and then ten Fetishes would run into it and give me 20 mana back.
Act IV just sort of happened, but the Chaos Sanctuary was woefully easy. De Seis must surely have been nerfed, as I didn’t even lose a Dire Wolf in the course of killing him. Diablo was even easier, saving only that he killed my merc and minions; because he stands still to use his magic spells, all you have to do is maintain a certain range from him so he keeps using the easily-dodged pink lightning while casting Fissure underneath him. It cost me three greater mana and one full rejuv to kill him, and I only needed the full rejuv because my mouse went momentarily haywire and I got tagged.
So far, so good.
I’m not finding anyone either. A couple of times there was an SDMB game active, but I didn’t match the level reqs. My account name is sonorhC, and so far my only char is a fire sorc named TempusIgne.
Well now… some serious news…
I was playing my ladder druid and checked for an SDMB game, there was one but it wasn’t ladder. I went in with by best character and as soon as I got in I saw “Diablo walks the earth” or whatever. Voltaire and I kicked the crap outta Big D in Tristram.
It wasn’t easy, I probably died 10 times, Voltaire had to leave and bring in his pally and together we slew him. Yay us!
I started a ladder character the other day, but then I stopped playing him when I saw that the ladder was going to finish this week. I figure I’ll wait until the new ladder starts to play one.
I play on the east, just started Act 2. My screen name is Cale_Knight, and if anyone wants to drop in to say hi, you’re more than welcome.
Johnny, I would have helped you finish Act2 but you had the level restriction set too low and I couldn’t get in. Now that I see your screen name I could whisper you, but the game I was in froze and it’s not letting me in any games for the moment.
BTW, what do you mean, galrion, that the ladder ends next week? Usually the ladder stays for months in not a year.
Yeah, the realms have been really unreliable lately. I have had that happen several times when there is no problem with my connection. I have DSL, so it’s not like I’m running slow…
I created my ladder character when the patch came out and directly beneath my character name it read “ladder character” and beneath that read, “11 days remaining” and it has been counting down each day since then. I took that to mean that they didn’t scrub the ladder yet and were letting the time run out on the old ladder so that people could still play their characters on it.
Not a problem. I didn’t even think about the level setting. I’m still at the beginning of Act 2 anyway. Thanks for the axe, though. Much better than the rare sword I was toting around in its place.
What’s the easiest way to find a SDMB game? I just created my first ladder character and it would be great to join in. Also, which ladder are you guys on - LoD non-hardcore?
No, what that means is that you haven’t played your character for 2 hours yet. It’s a new feature, to let you know that you haven’t locked your character into the system. The ladder will be running for a couple months. Check battle.net for more info.

My son and I killed a Diablo clone last weekend, but we needed two other players to help us, and one of them got the charm, but he seemed cool when he offered to help us next time the clone popped up. When the clone popped up, I think there was about 500+ SOJs sold…hmmmm, maybe the actual total was 666? Or maybe it is a random number preselected that spawned the clone when the #SOJs sold = preselected random #? I guess I will pay better attention to it next time.
Hey all, forgot there were tons of D2ers here. I haven’t made a ladder char yet, but a few productive hours brought my spanking new hammerdin to lvl60. He’s non-ladder and fairly well tweaked.
Hammerdins are finally viable again. I get about 2k damage per hammer, and I have plenty more synergy skills to max. Good news all around. I am trying to work on a mf zon who does not actually excel at boss farming. Go figure.
