Yes, it is. Buriza only needed an upgrading bar when GA could pierce. Now that’s been nerfed, you can upgrade the Blizzard Cannon - I think it winds up doing about 160-500 damage (plus the cold).
I think that the fact that you can only hold one anni per character would be enough to keep people from stockpiling them though. shrug
Chronos: I can take a look, but my assassin already has dual Shadow Killers and Jade Talons, so i think i’ll probably stick with those for the +skills and resists. Thanks though.
I still want to take a look at the buriza and hellrack…my strength is 173 with all the strength mods on my items BUT I have an additional 9 ability points that I haven’t allocated yet…I just gotta take the time to see what her base strength is and see what combination of items I need to keep her strength high enough…(but I think I know that the 173 strength is when she’s equipped with Titan’s…meaning that I probably have 153 strength when I equip the buriza…with the 9 extra points I have, I will be on 1 strength point short, but I will just have to level up in order to be able to handle the upgraded items…if they are worthy of upgrading (high-end on the ED%)…theckhd, if you need the space, go ahead and move those to items to the commie mule so I can take the time to mull it over…
Chronos, thanks for that awesome poison charm…175 over 6 for a small charm is the best I’ve ever seen…
I looked it up, and that poison charm is the most you can get from a single affix, though you can in principle get more if you also have a poison suffix, and it’s only available from Baal and a select few other bosses. To really get the most out of it, though, you’d want to put it on a Poison Dagger necromancer, due to the way in which poison damage stacks (this used to also work with a Venom assassin, but apparently they decided that was too powerful, so now other sources of poison damage hardly stack at all with Venom).
And I don’t think these claws are in the same class as Shadow Killers (don’t remember the exact stats on them), but they’re still very good. It’s a shame we don’t have more Dopers on West to give things to.
How would I upgrade a Buriza?
Cube it (of course) with a Lum, a Pul and a PEmerald.

About the Buriza…I thought that was one that you couldn’t upgrade? That would be silly powerful with my wolf druid. He is tearing through NM right now with a regular buriza and doing about 2k damage with Feral RAge. An upgraded Buriza would be sick!
You can only upgrade from exceptional to elite on the Ladders. The previous rumors regarding not being able to upgrade came from people trying to do it on non-Ladder realms. It is pretty sick, but it is a big Str. Req. jump. My opinion is that it’s not worth it for bowazons, unless you have an excellent source of equip/charm strength.
Woah…I may have to do that then. I have a Super Headstriker, but if I had known about the Buriza I would have done that! Too bad you can’t take characters from realm to realm…
Munch i believe that originally, blizzard wasn’t going to make Buriza and a few other exceptional uniques upgradeable because they felt they would be too strong. However, during the development of 1.10 they made everything a little harder than they originally planned, and made the elite unique weapons stronger than the originally were. As a result, they decided to drop these restrictions.
Plus, if you do the calculations, Hellrack still does more total damage (and has a greater damage output) than a fully upgraded Buriza (though i believe the buriza does more physical damage than Hellrack).
By the way, MDSL if you feel like joining the “West Side” and starting a new character, let me know. I’d like to start a sorc sometime soon, and it would be fun to have company.
And in SP, of course. I don’t yet know if Ladder-only items can spawn in SP games because they’re all so hard to find, but I’ll keep you posted.

Yeah, Baal has been generous with the polearms the past few days. My paladin’s merc is now using a Reaper’s Toll dropped by the ugly guy. BTW, if any Westerners (including immigrants from East) want an upgraded (exceptional) Woestave, it’s up for grabs. The damage isn’t great, but it has a lot of nice bonuses like Blinds Target, Freezes Target, Open Wounds, Reduce Monster Defense, etc.

Yup, they do. I’ve found two Windhammers and a Shadowkiller (or whatever the non-Jade Talon assy weapon is). I’d recommend giving The Pit a few hundred once overs. It’s in the Tamoe Highlands (but only do it on Hell diff.). My skellimancer just blazes through it, and has over 500% MF.
