You may be closer than you think. They’re back at the neighbor’s house now, and unloading boxes into a plain white van, a Penske rental truck and a golf cart. :eek: Almost looks like they’re doing a “paper route” sort of thing where they drop off a neighborhood’s load at one spot and someone else handles the last few blocks. Seems weird, but UPS analyzes the hell out of everything they do, so it must be more efficient.
Although, I’m getting thoughts of mailmen gone bad that stash heaps of undelivered mail in their garage because they’re too lazy to actually deliver it all.
I’m expecting two boxes from Amazon today. The tracking says “out for delivery” but I’m guessing it should really say “in your neighbor’s garage.”
Or is it the one you don’t know that she knows about?

…And she **definitely **doesn’t know - my credit card, and am sending it to my BIL’s work address in MD for delivery Thursday - he has been instructed (upon penalty of slow painful death) to simply put it under their tree (it’s from SANTA), so when we get there Saturday all will be in place.

One of my co-workers brought in food. She had made a poke roast, butter beans, slaw, cranberry sallit and fudge. Her husband didn’t want to eat any leftovers so she brought it all to irk. YUM!!! Happy Bear! Full Tummy! 
No blurf, of course I did sleep for about 12 hours.
Sweetie is sort of feeling better. He’s gotten to the point where his meds stop working only an hour before the next dose is due instead of 3 hours before. Poor guy. He slept on the couch for a bit last night and he NEVER does that (I don’t mean falling asleep while watching TV, I mean pillow and blanket sleep).
Cable guy came today and gave us a new router. After 2 years of horribly shitty signal, they finally admitted that the signal really did keep losing contact with their hardware and it needed to be replaced. Sweetie says the signal hasn’t dropped once in over 4 hours. That’s a miracle. It’s been really bad lately and almost made me lose a final exam.
Need to shower and stuff but I really don’t want to. Need to go to the post office too but I don’t wanna do that either.
shortdrum that was the continual problem I had durin’ my experiment with cable internet. After three modems I decided they did not know or could not resolve the problem so I switched back to dsl and no problem. Stoopid local cable provider.
I am largely goofin’ off at irk today. It’s quiet and that’s fine by me.
I just created something new and put it and some other rings into the tumbler. It’s going to run for about 4 hours. It seems like this is the perfect opportunity to take a nap.
Although, I’ve honestly not been feeling right the past couple of days and I think the D word is after me, so I probably should stay up and force myself to do some work. We’ll see how well that goes.

Went to get final bottle of alchomahol for my Uncle’s present- and found myself with the perfect opportunity to use a truly appalling pun I’ve never had the chance to before, which made me very happy.
My housemate had come with me, and found the very good selection of miniature bottles in the shop- including a mini bottle of Absinthe, while waiting for the cashier to be free. She commented that she wanted to try some, and asked if I wanted to split it. 'Tis the season for skintness- and even a bottle that size was quite expensive- so I said no, not right now.
Later, as we finished the shopping elsewhere, she said she wished she had bought the bottle, and I came back with ‘Never mind, you can get it later. After all, you’ll only want it more in a few weeks- Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder.’
I think she hates me now
Aanyway. I’m trying to distract myself this evening- I’m trying to design a poster for the seed swap event I’m trying to organise (confirmed that it’s going ahead now, yay!)- but I’m having to make up what’s actually happening, as we don’t have anything at all confirmed but the venue, which makes it interesting to work out the poster layout.
There might be talks, there may be films, there’s a chance of cake, and there certainly will be beer. I’m only hoping people will bring seeds!

I am sooooo enjoying vacation apart from the occasional work call and checking my e-mail a couple of times it is all going swimmingly! Night out with the girls was superb last night. Tonight was yummy comfort food made by my Mam and tomorrow myself and my bestest friend in the whole wide world are going for afternoon tea at a local fancy pants hotel. Yay!
I do miss mr ems bunches though. It seems that a place has been found for his mom in a local residential care home which is great news. They have a socail worker assigned who is doing a great job with medicaid and dealing with the papwork etc so for that we are grateful. mr ems had to take his sister back into the hospital on Sunday as she couldnt keep anything down and was in agony after her surgery last week. turns out she has an infection so they have kept her in for 3 days. The whole family needs a hug at this point but he won’t let me cut short my visit home to the UK to go back and help. I will give him lots of TLC when I get back next week.

I found hers last week but the problem was I couldn’t decide between two beautiful rings. I knew what she’d asked for but another was equally stunning. Then it hit me… Next month is our anniversary. Problem solved! 
I’m so bored after being off for a week that today am tackling the holy grail of bored tasks. Yes, cleaning the garage. Did you know that when rubber chest waders sit in a bag thru 20 summers they take on the consistency of concrete? When I dropped them they actually clattered and a few pieces ricochet’d into the wall.

Blurfish. The creeping crud has backed down to a nasty cough again. I’m giving up on meds beyond sudafed because they’re worse than the ick.
I’m out of sudafed anyway. This means another reason to go to Mal Mart. I ordered a book to pick up in the store and today’s the last day. And plus, the kittehs need vittles. I’m sick and will have to go all over the store and wait in a long line with screaming babies, Wal Martians and no chair to sit in when my strength goes. This is when a SO would come in handy. Oh yeah-- the cats got me back for my innocent little nibbles (they’re so cute, how could I resist?). One of my flowers was beheaded. I can’t remember the name of the flower, but they’re in all the stores right now. Not poinsettias, but a little upside down hanky looking red flower. The beheaded flower doesn’t show, but don’t tell the cats!
Whew, that was a LOT of writing. The class was US History 1865 - present. It’s weird to be studying current events in history class. The final today was to answer 2 essay questions. Without the help of notes or books. At least we’ve had the questions since the first day and have been working on them all semester. Onward to Español. Irregular preterit tense anyone?:eek:
