It puts less force downward to pull a wheelbarrow rather than pull it. No teams pulled their barrows. Last night I was thinking this was a slight mistake, but today it seems that if the ground is smooth, and the tire able to handle the increased downward force, there is not much to be gained from pulling rather than pushing.
Can you believe Millie wanted to toss 25 lb., spikey basketballs at Chuck (hehe, get it) and have him redirect them into the truck as if they were juggling tennis balls?
The fact that they showed the clowns getting lost next week makes me confident that they won’t be eliminated – a little bit of misdirection. As others have said, it’s likely to be a non-elimination leg anyway.
I saw the card first on the clowns’ steering wheel, then in a later shot it was gone, so I’ll agree they all had it but most of them pulled it off early on.
Apparently, we are long lost twins, seperated at birth. I couldn’t have said it better m’self. (except that I’d much rather see the Clowns win than the Goats*
I got it from the other teams, in case you hadn’t picked up on that. I suspect it’s because they both have goatees; that or they climb like mountain goats. But I prefer the facial hair explanation.
It’s not a big deal. It’s just that a few of us saw it for a split second and wondered what it was. I didn’t catch any of the printing on it awnd had no idea what it was, until fiddlesticks explained what they saw and gave a very valid explanation (thank you f).
I was just curious about what it read and if all the cars had them.
I just started watching this show, I saw an episode a couple of weeks ago and then this part Thursday.
I don’t particularly care about the personal meltdowns, but the race itself looks like a lot of fun. Before I send in my application for the next race, someone tell me, is there always bungee jumping? I’m great at map-reading, and I’m pretty sure I could shift a transmission with my left hand, but tying a string to my ankles and jumping off a high platform is not my forte.
There are always several challenges for thems as are afraid of heights – swaying footbridges, hang-gliding, rapelling, or, as we saw in this week’s episode, tall ladders, in addition to bungee jumping – but, IIRC, it’s usually at a detour, where the team has a choice of doing the really scary stunt or a safer, but more time-consuming alternative.
I doubt they’d have another Amazing Race, I don’t think many nations would welcome Americans with open arms. I hope they get another one going, but with the War on Iraq still going and all… and I think it’s only open to the American public and not Canadians. I guess checking the CBS website wouldn’t hurt at all either.
I’ll try to find a link, but I read that the president of CBS said they aren’t sure yet whether or not they’ll be doing another Amazing Race. Apparently the ratings aren’t as high as they had hoped, so I guess we all need to encourage more people to watch the remaining episodes of this one so we can get another one. And Madawc’s right, it’s only open to Americans. I know my Dad’s hoping they either do a Canadian version or manage to open up future editions to Canadians so he can try out for it, but I wouldn’t exactly count on it.
I’m a little worried this is the last Amazing Race. In the past they usually insert little 10 second blurbs during the show to visit cbs.com to apply for the next Amazing Race. Not so this year. As for Americans not being well liked in the rest of the world, it was refreshing that this season has a notable lack of Ugly Americans.
