Oh, I know! Besides, I’d be frightened not to give her an Emmy!
One nice touch last night - Larry’s wife was smoldering. Literally.

And that’s another FX show. I think a crossover would be interesting.
I just watched this show through iTunes and as usual I had the CC on. An odd moment of self-censorship: in the opening scene when still-living Tate is saying his “blessing” he calls Larry a ‘cocksucker’ on CC and clearly that’s what he said in the taping, but it’s (badly) dubbed into ‘asshole’. I wonder why they changed it; does anybody know if ‘cocksucker’ is one of the words you can’t say on basic cable?
Constance still has one child that is unaccounted for, right?
Are Constance and Larry the only living people aware of the ghosts? Ben might but he could just think that he’s going crazy.
I find it odd that some people’s ghosts display their death wounds but others do not.
I was thinking that the wife and girls appeared that way because the father (the burned guy) was finally seeing the reality of what he did.
Correct.
Well, there’s not exactly a wide field of candidates anymore.
Constance - YES
Larry - YES
Ben - MAYBE (based on glimpse of Moira)
Viv - MAYBE (based on Nora’s picture)
Luke - NO (convinced himself Hayden escaped the car)
Medium lady - YES
And I think that’s about all the characters we’ve seen more than once who are still alive!
I wonder if we’ll find out somebody already on the show is Constance’s fourth child. I’ve even wondered if it might be Travis (given up for adoption).
Jessica Lange has given some truly awful performances over the years, but this show makes me wonder if those were bad directing or a drug problem or whatever, because girl can act. She knocked those police station scenes out of the park, playing as over-the-top a character as you could possibly write for TV yet keeping the performance amazingly real.
One thing I think is really interesting about the Travis:Constance relationship is the revelation that he really did/does love her. He’s not just an opportunist.
It’s a CW show (with reruns on TNT). Unless there’s some other show about brothers from Lawrence, KS running around ganking ghosts that I’m unaware of.
What you can and can’t say on basic cable is entirely up to the people running the channel.
Anyway, while not unexpected, Violet being dead still wound up being quite disturbing to me.
scooped
I do believe I heard the C word TWICE during the first episode. I truly didn’t know you could say that on TV.
What is the other FX show?
My bad. As pointed out, it’s CW. (Supernatural)
The other show is Supernatural, but it’s not on FX 'cept maybe in syndicate.
Nope, syndicated eps are on TNT. It was clearly just a brainfart on Sampiro’s part, let’s not make too big a deal of it now that it’s been corrected.
OMGOMGOMGeeeeee!!! Guize! U guize, demon baby birth scene, you guize!
Which baby was the evil one? The ghost lady took the first one away.
The second one seemed to be the big one that was hardest to deliver…I’m not sure where it ended up.
WOW.
I totally did not see that coming.
Vivian’s dead! Ben’s left alone in a house full of ghosts!
Makes me wonder if Ben will die in the last episode and then a new family moves in next season?
For all the times I want to yell at the characters in frustration, this show sure does a great job of making me want to tune back in next week… Must … know… what … happens… next!!
Do we have any reason to trust ghost-Dr? Am I right that either, both, or neither of the babies could be alive?
I may be all alone here, but I really enjoyed watching the gay guy killed with the poker beating the shit out of Tate.
I thought it was pretty obvious the first (stillborn) baby was Ben’s - the second was the larger one, which grew faster and deprived the other of nutrients in the womb; clearly that was evil. Also, remember when Violet tells Viven at the end that she’s sorry she lost her baby, Viven replies, “But I didn’t lose my baby” - with Vivien and baby both dead, they are together in the house. Now, Nora did take that baby, so that sets up an interesting scenario for battling ghost-moms. Not to mention last we saw demon-spawn Constance and Moira were cooing over how beautiful it was when Hayden interrupted with “Hey bitches. You get all that slime off my baby yet?”
The second baby was clearly heard to cry, so I’m assuming it’s alive (pun intended). We didn’t hear the first one make a sound, so . . . well, I was going to say it’s safe to assume it was indeed stillborn, but I don’t think “safe to assume” is a reasonable policy regarding this show.
Regarding gonzoron’s spoiler bit (speculation regarding next week’s season finale and next season):It makes perfect sense for Ben to die next week, thereby setting up next season for new victims (er, occupants) of the Murder House. Or just a full season of battling ghosts (which could be even more fun). Might actually have been the plan all along, for all we know.
Am I the only one disappointed that you can tell whether or not SexyMaid will make an appearance based solely on the Mature Content warning at the beginning of the episode? Can’t they just do a generic LSV warning for every episode?
