I liked the 10 second montage they did on Nuts of Wonder doing the same line over and over.
At least he seems to be aware that it’s really only his deep voice that’s gotten him this far and he has to be somewhat aware that unless he can do more then sing with a deep voice he’s not going to be our next American Idol.

I’m kind of surprised that nobody brought up Jacob Lusk while this thread was going on. Looking back, it was by far the best performance of the night.
There’s still a lot of people to eliminate before they get down to the final 24. I think they deliberately put Trainwreck and similarly bad acts into the “Staying” rooms to misdirect the others in the room into thinking they were going home. But they have no serious intention of keeping her, I don’t think.
Well that’s my theory anyway…

Aside from that, though, there are some really great voices this year.
Compared to the miserable trainwreck that was last year, this year is fantabulous. I’m convinced that Simon was attemping to wreck the franchise on his way out.

People like Ashley get kept solely for the good TV.
I’m hearing that the final 40 has been leaked, folks. I guess they only have picked 40 right now so they can prevent major, major spoilage by picking a final 20 only a couple days before it airs on TV.
