What misogyny?
I’m also not going to give her a pass on being lazy and gutless. Real musicians who “care deeply about music,” push themselves. They don’t try to coast.

I disagree! Why, he’s saying that if you throw a pebble in the water, you can make a wave! I myself am so inspired now.
Joe Jonas is brilliant!
So, getting home just in time to turn on the reveal was okay, I guess. Looking at the comments, it doesn’t appear that I missed much.
I do wonder at a show that came out of nowhere and had crap guest stars at the beginning (Ashford and Simpson anyone?) to hugeness like Prince, Bono, Avril Lavigne, Michael Buble, J-Lo, Gloria Estefan, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Dolly Parton, and now we’re getting “People most folks old enough to drink don’t know”. Actually, Miley seemed to do fairly well with the coaching thing, but these guest performers this season, what the hell?
I am not surprised, i have a feeling already whose leaving next week, especially considering Usher will be the mentor.
Well, VFTW got Tim to the tour.
For those of us who haven’t watched yet, who was voted off? Paige?
Blessedly, yes.
for the west coast viewers:
Yes, it was Paige
Hmm, that’s so odd; he was so engaging during the auditions.
HA! I slay me!
So, no big surprise tonight, eh? Guess I don’t have to waste an hour of my life.
You woke up my cat! (via my loud cackle)
I’m going to miss Paige’s pretty eyes.
Paige totally deserved to go, IMO, but I took Andrew in my office pool just in case - had to cause a vote split for upcoming weeks.
And, Joe Jonas was looking pretty hot last night - how old is he now?
I had Paige in my office pool, as well as Tim (for less points.) I’m still in first place!
Not me. I thought her eyes looked infected. But I did think, over all she was a very attractive young lady, and I was rooting for her. But that Genesis performance was just so bad. So very bad.
I love Crystal and if what she is doing is a strategy, it’s a sound one. Now isn’t really the time to take big chances. Play it safe, stay this week, go out on tour. If you blow your load in week 6 or whatever, where do you go from there?
But hey, dreadlocks are an automatic +20 for me. I liked that guy a season or 2 ago also. Jason something?
Wait, she’s from Chicago? Hmmm.
Does anyone else think that Andrew is the next to go? I think that he should have gone home last night although Paige was awful. I missed his version of Straight Up, but everything else he has done has been boring as hell. At least Paige’s performance was entertainingly bad.
I see that Crystal has a good voice and is a good performer but her style just doesn’t do anything for me. I like Janis Joplin but there is something about Crystal that just turns me off.
It really was a terrific rendition (starts here at 0:55), but the judges have been right – he’s never come close to matching that moment.
That song is on the playlist at work and I hear it several times a week. If Casey’s version had come on instead I would not have known the difference. It was uncanny.
Anyone else notice that he breaks eye contact when he looks down at his guitar? This must be a tic, because I am sure he is good enough not to have to look as he plays.
Castro.
I was hoping Tim would leave, but Paige’s sing-out was so bad that I didn’t mind.
