I’ve heard this song before. It’s originally a duet. That was not good. She’s not going anywhere though.
And I take it that Simon doesn’t like gospel songs either…
This song does not do Mandisa justice. She sounded like she was the backup vocalist for a step team for half the song. Her voice is so much bigger and better than that. I’m afraid a lot of people are going to be turned off by the … oh, Paula, you drunken little wackadoo, way to alienate the fundies!
The commercials for this movie American Dreamz remind me of something but I can’t put my finder on what.
I know, it scared me when she actually completed a sentence, and I agreed with her! I’m with Simon about the “pop school” outfit though. It’s like Taylor’s trying desperately to prove he’s not 45. I don’t believe him. I thought he did an amazing job on the song, though. Best so far by a mile.
I do like Mandisa, but that was farking awful. Yes, Simon, I didn’t get it either. Also, all respect to big girls everywhere, but I don’t think jeans were the best choice. But that’s a minor quibble, she still looks pretty great.
I wish they’d replace Simon with Hugh Grant. I lurve me some Hugh Grant.
It seems like everybody is just locking themselves in their boxes tonight and trying not to do anything challenging. Maybe “McPheever” can turn things around.
I knew it.
Ha, ha.[/Nelson]
What is Chris singing?
I notice they finally credited Live for the version he did last week.
I haven’t heard this song before…
BAM
Hear that? That was my brain exploding. Dammit. Oh Chris, oh Chris, why have you forsaken me?
At least he doesn’t suck as much as Scott Stapp.
Someone please make him stop. He’s losing votes by the second.
It’s not that I don’t like today’s gospel. It’s pretty current and not at all old fashion-y. The orignal of that song is nice.
Oh, Lordy! Just be glad you guys could not hear my son’s cry of agony when Chris said the word Creed.
Damn Dio. Good call.
Can’t quite believe it. Chris is actually sounding worse than Scott Stapp. Not something that I thought was possible.
LOL… Creed won’t be shown on American Idol…
Okay, but he did sound bad and the very end of the song.
Simon’s finally saying what I’ve been saying the last 3 weeks. This show is not a good platform for The Rock and The Roll.
I’m gonna stop typing and watch McPheever…
Simon is right. Singing Creed is crossing the line.
Yeesh. Did somebody slip something into their mandatory glasses of coke this evening?
Ok, is this weird? These are songs from the 21st century, and this is one of the worse nights for most if not all the contestants here…
