Wow! She looks great! Well, great for a hooker, but still.
You left out cutesy Paris saying “Thank Cuuuuuuuue” 15 times.
Overall a very disappointing night. I’m especially disappointd in Mandisa, and agree with Simon that it was very indulgent. If you’re going to sing a song nobody has heard before, at least make it a good one (like Taylor did). Plus, she didn’t sing it all that well. Couldn’t she have found some Mary J. Blige to do or something? Then there is he whose name shall not be spoken by me this week. I don’t even want to go there. It’s almost as bad as the week Taylor sang Michael McDonald.
My favorites this week were Elliot and Taylor. It was nice to see Elliot move around the stage a little instead of just standing there and singing, and it was nice to see Taylor just stand there and sing (and sing very well, I might add) instead of all that horrid dancing for once.
I hope the bottom three is Kellie, Lisa, and Ace, but it will probably be Bucky instead of Ace. Dang it. In other news, I’m happy they’re fixing Bucky and Elliot’s teeth. They’re both looking much better these days.
Geesh.
The way he did it, he was acting like he had really been through something, so when he said he hurt himself playing basketball  :smack:
Paris skeeved me out with the teen girl fucking routine, and her dancing was creepy.
Kellie has become a caricature; I like that song just for fun but her delivery was bleah.
No one really blew me away, and I don’t understand the love for Katherine.
But as mentioned above, Simon bugged me with the “there’s a line you don’t cross”. He wants the artist to have something special, but then stick to Top 40 hits?? No wonder he liked Katherine who stuck to an inspirational ballad.
Yes! But I agree with Simon about his outfit. He looks better in a suit, and without his hair all poofy like that.
Just off camera to the left is Richard Gere in a tux, and he’s loosening his tie.
“I loved prom so much I ahlmost peed myuh payunts.”
Speaking of wardrobes, why was Paris wearing Kellie’s yellow top from last week?
Is it weird that when Elliot was dancing around, I thought to myself, “He dances almost like a white Eminem”?
I know I’ve been lurking in the AI threads but I had to pop in to comment on this.
What I believe Taylor’s saying is “*Snow *Patrol!” Snow Patrol is an awesome band that I have come to know and love in the past year. Why Taylor is giving them a shout-out, I don’t know, but I’m okay with them getting some notice!
I have to agree. The rawk Tshirt under the collarless jacket is a look, but it’s not Taylor’s look. He’s the anti-metrosexual, which was refreshing. He should avoid the metrosexual clone look in future.
I meant to include my sig on that post!
What killed me was that he fumbled with the shirt while trying to pull it aside to reveal the scar. If you can’t even make the gesture with grace…
I don’t think that’s it. Ryan asked them something about it last night and Taylor described the Patrol as a legion of fans and himself as the Patrolman. As I said, I like him more when he talks less.
Amen! I keep hanging around waiting for “Pop & R&B of the '60s” night.
I wondered if McPhee’s song was supposed to sound like that, or if she was just incredibly pitchy – the judge’s reaction seems to have confirmed that it was the former.
Simon’s reaction to Mandisa was so abrupt (“Indgulent.”) that I wondered if he’s adamantly anti-religious…but then he reacted to Chris in exactly the same way. So maybe he’s just anti-religous *and * anti-rock. Or he just hates it when performers bring in some crap song just because they’ve loooved it forever.
That was a religious song? I couldn’t understand most of the words.
Last night was the first time I really looked at Pickler’s eyes, and they are dead. How does a living person manage that?
No, you’re right, it was pitchy. (At least I say you’re right, because that’s what I thought too.) I thought it started out really weak and never really went anywhere. It was nowhere near good as the original, nor did it have half the feeling Ms. Aguilera puts into it. I’m not a fan of Christina’s music, but the girl has pipes. I was truly surprised that the judges gave her such a glowing review on this one. To me, it was like half a notch above Lisa’s terrible butchering of Kelly Clarkson.
Actually, "Gimme Some Lovin’ " or “Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys” would be excellent choices for Taylor now that you bring it to mind…
No, not pitchy; it was a complicated song. She was dead on. It’s just a terrible song, complicated or not.
Which makes you wonder why she picked it. Why not do “Beautiful”?
