Jennifer Lopez and Latin music. Again, not my thing. When are they going to have Hair Metal week, guest starring Dokken or something?
More importantly, how is Jennifer Lopez qualified to mentor anyone regarding singing?
Dancing, yeah. Famewhoring, definitely. But not much else.
Oh wait - I think Sanjaya and Haley might have found a role model!
Will Sanjaya sport a J-Lo do?
Given how loose they follow other themes, we may see some Herb Alpert tonight.
The only reason I’ll watch tonight is in the hopes that Haley honors J-Lo by donning her green dress.

Anyone catch Gina on Leno the other night? Most of the bit was cringeworthy, but the ending makes up for it (YouTube link).
Ready for another yawner from Melinda…and I agree with the OP,some heavier rock is in order.
Exactly. I actually respect Jennifer Lopez for spinning a huge career in a variety of areas from being attractive and able to dance. But singing?? Gah.
I am actually scared to think about Phil and this theme.
I was hoping for rock too, but now that Gina and Chris S. are out, that’s kinda pointless, innit?
As for Latin and Phil, well… He can always reenact something from this movie.
No,I think it makes more sense now, instead of the show catering to a certain style week after week.I want to see Melinda try to sing Highway to Hell.
RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! It’s Cyber-JLo!
Holy mierda, Melinda looks fantastic. That red lipstick is great on her. I don’t know this song, and I wish it had more horns in it.
Jennifer Lopez? She’s not Latin! Oh sure, she sings in Spanish sometimes, but she’s no Celia Cruz! And she can’t sing.
Poor Melinda. My son says it’s not her neck or her shoulders but her chin. My husband said, “Yeah, it’s a Dudley Doright chin.”
Simon is right about Melinda. She’s becoming very boring. She’s always technically good, but her song choices are always so safe and dull. She never puts a toe out of her comfort zone.
Agreed. About time she got some good styling advice.
Melinda: I love what that dress does for her, but her hair ages her 30 years. As for her singing, I agree with Simon: that performance just wasn’t memorable enough. Though I do tip my hat to Melinda’s quick rejoinder.
I didn’t like either of the first two. Melinda put me to sleep, and LaKisha sounded out of breath the whole time.
Out of curiosity, what would you like her to sing? If she’s not really familiar with the material, why wouldn’t she pick a song that she knows she can do well, even if it is boring?
Now, LaKisha looks like a Charo hot-air balloon gone horribly wrong. And she’s saying “conga” wrong. (She never listens to the mentors, and it’s going to kick her in the ass eventually.) And I don’t think she sounds very good, either – kind of whiny, or something. Cuban music is so percussive, and it should be sung that way.
Uh-oh. I agree with Paula. Something is not right here. Mebbe I need more ice cream.
