I only watched the last few minutes. Why was Simon so scowly (okay, scowlier) with Seacrest, when Seacrest asked him if he’d “take credit” for Ace going home?
It was a stooooopid thing to say, but Simon looked unusually tired of Ryan’s crap. Did anything happen between them earlier in the show?
I think that Simon had pegged Ace early on as a marketable, pretty boy front-runner and is kind of disappointed that the not-being-able-to-sing thing kind of matters after all.
He’s probably also not too happy with the male choices he’s got left. According to DialIdol, Taylor has consistently been the highest vote getter each week. Elliot surged above both Chris and Pickler this week as well. That’s got to be giving him hives.
Well now you are stuck. That poor young man will now be bereft without his AuntBeast fix.

Whew! Finally!
I was a bit worried when they sent Ace to Chris and Paris’ group. I called most of the night for Chris and got through all the time. I tried for Paris several times but only got through once. I don’t think people think they sucked and didn’t vote for them (except for a few of you guys), I think people felt that had to save Elliot and Kellie (from her crappy performance) because they were in danger.
That bit of making someone chose the lower group is cruel. I think Taylor knew it was supposed to be a trick (how could Chris and Paris be in the bottom 3?) and decided to fake Ryan out.
At least the right person finally went home and we won’t have to listen to a smarmy falsetto love song next week.
Aw man, I ducked in here to see if there were further responses to the continuing discussion on last night’s show.
Can I put in a formal request for East-Coasters to use spoiler boxes, or to start a second thread for Wednesday’s shows? The show doesn’t air till two hours later on the West Coast.

But were they the bottom three? I don’t remember Ryan saying anything about a “bottom 3,” just a “safe” group and an “unsafe” group. Probably because it would be more dramatic and unexpected that way.
worked for me - I was totally faked out. But I was pissed that they made Taylor “choose.” Short of him responding “fuck you, Ryan” (which I was screaming at the TV), what he did was the next best thing.
You know, the first season I watched (3), the night of 7 had the same little game, with a group of three (remember the divas of Fantasia, LaToya, and Jennifer?) on each side and sending poor George Huff to pick which group he thought was safe. It was great, a way of showing America how wrongly they were voting. (whatever)
Then wasn’t it last years night of 7 where this did this again and Bo just walked up and stood in between the two groups? Did they play this same little game in season one and two?

I’m reasonably sure (as in, I’d put a moderate amount of money on it) that Ryan started out that section of the show by saying he was looking for ‘the bottom three.’
