American Idol 4/18-4/19: The Sounds of Seven Singers

Uhm, yeah, I know that. I’m just expressing my deepest-most wishes that his ass gets kicked and I’m relieved of having to suffer through any more weeks of his bleating than necessary. Kellie can go next, and after that, I don’t care what order they get eliminated in because all 4 of the others are extremely talented and would make a worthy Idol. Well, maybe not Paris so much, as I think she’s got some growing to do before she’s quite ready, but she’s got an amazing talent and will no doubt have a long and successful career in the music industry no matter how she places in this show.

Worst part about Chris being in the bottom three: He’ll never try anything out of his “comfort zone” again, so until his ass is gone we can look forward to more grunge drag. Oh well, Andrea Bocelli may well be his death knell. (Mine too, for that matter. Just when I thought they couldn’t do worse than Barry Manilow, they hit us with Kenny Rogers. Just when I thought they couldn’t do worse than Kenny Rogers, they hit us with Rod Stewart. Just when I thought they couldn’t do worse than Rod Stewart, they hit us with Andrea Bocelli. Who’s next, Slim Whitman? Are they *trying *to kill me?)

Ace is gone? Well, that was about six weeks too late. He’s still pretty cute, though.

That was my idea too.

I gotta admit, I’m kind of bummed about Ace. There’s at least four other people I’d rather have seen go first.

Did anyone else but me notice that Ryan has only introduced Randy and Simon, skipping over Paula, the last two shows?

Thank you. Or, in the words of one of theothers I’d have rather lost:

Thaaaaaaaaynnnnnnnk yew.

Lord, I REALLY want Kellie gone next.

Yep, Kellie was one of the four I was thinking of!

The others were Chris, Katharine, and Elliot.

Sorry, PapSett, but I’m so freaking happy Ace is gone. When they announced it was him, I went all Napoleon … Yessss!
Not only that, but I was absolutely thrilled that Elliott was not in the bottom three. Maybe America is starting to warm up to him. Now if we could just get rid of Kellie, my top 5 would be almost perfect. The only thing that could make it better would be switching Mandisa for Kat, but obviously that’s not going to happen.
As for next week, Andrea Bocelli? What? I agree with Biggirl that Chris should go with NIN. That would be the best AI moment ever.

Even though I can’t stand her and don’t think she deserves to win, I do not want the Pickler gone. Not yet. She’s just so much fun to hate. Still, except for Kat, I can’t think of who I’d like to see eliminated before her.

This season is so hard. I like so many of them.

No, I hear it’s going to be Zamfir: Pan flute week, you know.

I loved Taylor walking to Chris, shaking his hand before going to the other group.

Ryan: Taylor, I’m sorry…you chose…

(Taylor walks to other group).

Ryan: Oh…I’m sorry…now you have chosen correctly.

Anything to fluster Ryan “half-beard” Seacrest makes me happy.

It seemed like that to me too last week, and I noticed it this week at well, but I think the introduction was just drownded out by the audience. He runs through 'em pretty quick.

Whoops - that’s referring to the comment above about Ryan skipping over Pauler in the intros.

I DVR’d it and finally got to see both the exhibition and results show.

Chris has a magnificent voice. I can’t stand the song.

Taylor needs to go. Talk about smarmy.

Pickler is effervescent but I can’t stand stupid women. Not only did she mess up the song by being out of tune, but she didn’t strike the right mood either.

Elliott has a goofy charm about him that I just love. I’m rooting for him.

Katharine is lovely and has a wonderful voice. But she strikes no emotion in me.

Now that Ace is gone, I could see him being grabbed by an Aaron Spelling type and cast on one of those t.v. shows created for moderately talented but beautiful people. Is O.C. hiring?

Paris is darling. However, I get the feeling that she doesn’t have the ego needed to survive outside the safe confines of AI. The music industry would chew her up and spit her right back out.

Bite your tongue, woman, and be careful what you wish for!

It’s actually one of the few standards I like. But you know, I heard an mp3 yesterday of Anwar singing the same song from last season. I liked Chris’s performance and all, but his voice just doesn’t compare to Anwar’s for sheer resonant gorgeousness.

Yeah, I know. I should get over it.

Did Chris and Ace say “I love you man” to each other?

So happy Ace is gone!! So wondering how can they accomplish the production needed to make Rod Stewart’s tired voice sound good on these Songbook albums?? Man that was painful.

Are we really going to be stuck with a Taylor/Pickler final two???

Sorry, I missed the ending remarks by Ryan. WHAT are they planning on having the kids do next week?

Love songs… there are plenty out there, in all sorts of genres. Not sure what Bocelli will add (I don’t think anyone will do an opera song ;)).
