American Idol 4/24-25

I missed most of the show, flipping back and forth, so I missed the duet and had to catch it on I-Tube.

How did they do that? Did the live audience see Elvis and Celine on the big monitor thingie, and the fake Elvis on the stage? Did fake Elvis bother to lip-synch or did he just move around?

My daughter thought it was an abomination.

This was probably the first time some people saw Elvis. (Really, millions of viewers, worldwide audience, it had to be a first for somebody.) I wonder what they thought of him. If it had been my first time, I would have wanted more.

Was it a first for anybody here? For Elvis or for that performance?

The thing is, though, Lennon did say that, but not in In His Own Write, which was a book of humorous poetry. He said it in an interview – the same interview in which he made the “bigger than Jesus” comment. Not only did people not absorb the meaning of the comments you posted; they didn’t even register them in their haste to pounce on the BTJ remark.

Meanwhile, I wish I could say I knew all along that no one would leave, but I didn’t so much “know” it as hear it posited numerous times and figure it made sense. After the second stand-up-sit-down, though, it seemed pretty obvious.

I don’t watch Idol, but I just heard a DJ on Alice (97.3) out of SF gush about Kelly Clarkson’s performance of a Patty Griffin song, and I am a HUGE Patty Griffin fan, so I dug it up on iTunes and it is f*cking awesome!!
