I am starting to think none of the final four are all that great - decent, but nobody I would pay to see in concert or buy a CD.
BTW, I am really getting annoyed with all these really cheezy “home-made” posters out in the audience and the camera always seems to swing out to get a close up of them. Seriously, do all Americans have the talent of a five year old when making a sign? Geez - crappy colors, pisspoor script, horrible spacing. I am not saying everyone has to be a graphic artist, but I have seen better art work by the Phelps crazies who protest funerals.
To be fair, I think these signs are actually made by the producers of Idol to make it look like they were “home-made” and then passed out to the audience as they come in. (They do this at political rallies.) Still - this coy trick is almost as bad as last year when everyone in the front rows had to hold their hands in the air and sway along with the songs - also choreographed by eager production assistants paid to make it look spontaneous.
I only saw the second half performances because for some odd reason my DVR started recording at 8:47. Go figure.
I think Haley will go home. She’s a doll but I don’t think she’s pandering to the right demographic.
I still love Lauren. She’s youthful, she’s humble. And I love the texture she gives songs, even though last night’s choice illustrated its limitations.
Scotty. I can’t be unbiased about him. Something about him squicks me out.
James peaked too soon. Now it’s just a rehash. Nothing new. Move on.
