How do you mak Air Supply even more insipid? Countrify it.

It was tough for to follow Bo’s a capella virtuoso thing, though.

Damn straight. But talk about an obscure song choice. I think I’m probably the only guy in the country who has that album on his CD rack and actually still plays it.

If Carrie were old enough to actually rember that song, I don’t think she would’ve picked it. I regret complaining about her country choices.

Wow.

That was as though Bo strode out there stark naked.

And he had a 10-inch schlong.

minty green, since you know – what was that song? Who sings it? Is it as good on the CD?

What was it again? And who?

Donna Summer! w00t! Loving Vonzell’s outfit, although I am at least 10 years too old to wear it. Does she know how to sing without smiling the whole time? Her smile is stunning, but it’s distracting. Maybe a little too much dancing, because she sounded … something. Not quite right. Lord knows, not awful, but not as good as I expect Bo and Carrie to be. Poor thing. AI2 or AI3, she could have won.

Sweet baby Jeebus, is it hot in here? My husband is getting lucky tonight, that’s for DAMN sure.

Good thing Bo nailed the first 2 songs. What a crappy song choice.

Well, that was right in Bo’s wheelhouse. It looks like he’s done that tune before in a few thousand bars in his life.

It’s kind of unfair to blame Bo for that song choice. He didn’t pick it.

Who said he did?!?!

I know Paula picked it, but it was still a “choice” was it not? :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

Is that Carrie’s real hair? I didn’t like that performance. I really would have liked for her to sing a Dolly Parton song.

I was talking about Simon calling it a “wedding” performance. I thought it was a snark at the song choice but Bo did it about as well as he could have. It’s kind of hard NOT to sound cliched on that song.

The look Simon gave when he said to Carrie “That should be enough to get you into the final” screamed to me that he is not pleased with this crop. I haven’t been watching AI all that much though so I could be wrong.

“In a Dream” by Badlands, a tremendously underappreciated late-80s early-90s rock band put together by one of Ozzy Osbourne’s former guitar players. Off their 1991 album Voodoo Highway.

I always liked the original because the band’s singer, Ray Gillen, had such a great voice. On the original, the the first verse is completely a capella, with acoustic slide guitar joining in on the second verse. Gillen, incidentally, died of AIDS about a decade ago.

I thought Carrie’s last song was pure karaoke but I’m not a fan of the country-pop genre anyway.

Bo owned the night. I guess “the Vonz” will probably go tomorrow.

Holy crap. I remember that band. I had their first album. That was the band started by Jake E. Lee, right?

Yep. I was lucky enough to catch them live a couple times.

Cool. I always thought that Lee was an underappreciated guitarist. He did some really interesting and inventive work with Ozzy as well.
