Dude, give it up.
That wasn’t Priscella Presley, it was daughter Lisa Marie.
I can’t say I was impressed by any of them tonite. Chris was pretty good on his first song.
He’s definitely not karioke, the best of what’s left.
Elliot has a really funny mouth. Did you notice how it was all round and puckered for the last note of his first song. And his clothes always look too big for him. That jacket and tie were just not right in so many ways. Songs middle of the road, no flair.
I agree about Kat 's perpetual grin. She reminds me of a beauty pageant contestant during the talent portion.
Taylor is the perfect rendition of the wedding singer and/or lounge singer. He would be such fun at a wedding, might even hire him for mine. But Am Idol, not.
Don’t be silly…every week is “get rid of Katharine” week. It’s just that this week it was more obvious than most.
Well, three phone lines here, each one doing it’s own repeat dial of 01, 02 and 04. Could we actually be heading to a finals where the most talented contestant wins this thing?
Errr, make that 01, 02 and 03. Silly me.
Fortuantely, the typo was only done on the keyboard and not the dialing pad.
You want the most talented people to go on to the final 3, but you voted for Chris instead of Kat?
On dialidol, they have Kat and Chris as #3 and #4!
And every time I check it they have switched places with each other. So as far as that goes, it’s a close race on who goes home!
Is it wrong of me to be torn between who I want to go home and who will maximize my points on teh Ai prediction contest we have here on the board? LOL
Kat really flubbed both her songs. It was interesting to hear Tommy M. comment that she needs to pay attention to the lyrics.
Elliott … I listened to the first song and I heard a lot of bleating. If anyone was goat-singing tonight it was him.
No, that was Priscilla. Lisa Marie has a longer face like her dad.
When Chris came out & sang his first song well, I joked, “He’s going home tonight,” since the only time he was in the bottom 3 was one of the times he sang well.
I am glad I completely blew the AI Results Prediction, as I don’t have anything to worry about.
I voted for Elliott. I watched Scrubs first, & it still took quite a few tries to get through.
Got nothing to add since I didn’t see the show (toddlers beckoned)…
…but that’s OK, 'cause I had a fabulous dream last night involving Chris. FAB-U-LOUS.
hubba-mubba-hubba-yubba
Ya know it just occured to me that dial idol wouldn’t be able to predict the text message votes. Here’s hoping they’re wrong on this one but if Chris goes home tonight at least I won’t have any dilemma about trying to watch both the Idol finals and the Lost season finale.
How long was Katherine’s last song – thirty seconds? And I know they always have to shorten the songs, but who chose that particular arrangement? The octave jump in the middle was jarring, and that’s often the kiss of death.
Elliott was all right, Chris was decent, Kat was a mess, and Taylor was fun on the first song and pretty good on the next.
Kat goes home, or I will be shocked.
Round 1:
Taylor (“Jailhouse Rock”): Had a lot of fun with it. It was what it was, and he was what he was, and it was un to watch.
Chris(“Suspicious Minds”): That song needs a special kind of voice to sing it, like Elvis or Roland Gift. Chris’ voice was about as generic as they come.
Elliot(Whatever the hell that piece of crap was): What a miscalculated mess.
Kat(“Hound Dog”/“All Shook Up”): What an even bigger miscalculated mess.
Round 2:
Taylor (“In the Ghetto”): Not bad, but he still looks like he’s horribly constipated when he’s not dancing around like a fool.
Chris (“A Little Less Conversation”): I’m not familiar with the song, so I was in a position to listen to the performance on its own merits, rather than have to compare it unfavorably with what Elvis might have done with it. It was one of my favorite Chris performances to date, and I was really impressed with his judgement in trying such a different move for himself.
Elliot(“Trouble”): Simmered. Too bad the song needs a full rolling boil.
Kat(“Can’t Help Falling in Love With You”): Oh, dear. You started off so cool and smoky, so unlike your usual presence, I though you were going to out-Chris Chris. Then you cracked a smile and sailed up the octave and it was all over for you.
Kat will probably go home tomorrow, but it will be straight into a record contract. Too many hack producers like Tommy Mottola know exactly what kind of music to record with her voice.
Elliot should go home, but he seems to have a solid fan base. The final two slots are Taylor’s and Chris’ to lose.
Taylor reminded me of Jake Blues doing Jailhouse Rock. Which was totally cool in my book.
I think Elliot will get sent home simply because he sang such obscure Elvis songs. I know that if I don’t know a song, I mentally tune the performance out while it’s going on; then afterward, I’m like “What the hell did so-and-so sing?”
Kat’s safe because she’ll get the vote from people who don’t want to see the last female go home just yet; plus at least her performances were memorable. Elliot’s were forgotten the moment he started.
I actually liked Chris’ performance of “A Little Less Conversation.” It was the most fun song he sang to date. Everything else he sings, he puts off this “I am a fucking rock god; I have flames on the screen behind me, and therefore I am a badass” vibe. He was really starting to get on my nerves until I saw him do “ALLC.”
Happy
Dialidol’s bottom 2 are both expected and very, very surprising.
I half expect her to do a pole dance to next week’s song…if she’s still here.
They are probably dreading the prospect of Taylor winning…I don’t think they’d know how to handle the album.
Personally, I think Taylor could play Vegas…I can see the billboards already, but he’s more showman than singer, I don’t think he would come across in a studio recording.
I think Chris’ll stay, 'cause…Elvis needs goats.

I loved the “thank you for voting for me” on the line after my calls. I voted for Elliott and Chris until 11pm exactly.
I turn the speakers up and look away from the screen to really judge the voices.
Elliott’s voice is gorgeous. I want him to win.
I thought Chris did well too. I want him for number 2. He was my original 1st choice, but Elliot won me over last night.
Taylor just irks me - he did okay on both songs. Better on the first. I’m glad Tommy M. told him to chill with the “dance” moves on the 2nd song.
I’ve really tried to like Katherine - she really blew the 2nd song. Really blew it. That was shrieking.
