Almost, but if we could just lose Amy, Alaina and Antonella and keep Chris Sligh, Blake and Sanjaya, it’d be all good.
LaKisha’s move took guts, and it paid off big time. Anything less than a great performance would have invited unflattering comparisons to Jennifer Hudson. But she pulled it off, and it was spectacular!
I’m having a hard time picking just a few favorites this time. I’m pretty sure we’ll see Amy and Alaina leave, though. They just didn’t stand out tonight.

I’m torn between Melinda and Lakisha, but a few others sounded really good too, and that’s more than one could say of the men last night.
That makes two tonight…Could you imagine Ryan saying, “And coming up next, Barry Manilow and Meatloaf!” I would have laughed, but I’m sure at least some folks would have changed the channel.
LaKisha has a great voice, but I hate that style of singing. Hate it. Bleah.

Melinda, Melinda, Melinda
What a great set of pipes and her voice is so versatile that she will blow it out in any style of singing that’s demanded of her. Contrast her voice with Lakisha’s who’s style is to belt it out ala Baptist church choir. Not my cup o’ tea.
All the guys are rank amateurs in comparison.

LaKisha and Melinda were the best of the night.
I will also add that I chuckled to myself everytime they showed the guys. Chris S. was almost always looking directly at the judges instead of the singer. I guess he was trying to read their reactions to the performance.
One important thing to remember - it’s not always the best singer who wins.
Case in point: the guy who made Knight Rider cry. Yuk!
