I don’t know if you’re rolling your eyes at me, but yes, that seems to be a prevailing ideology. Not saying there’s no contrary ideology, but there’s a lot of people out there who think you succeed because God loves you; just like Phil espouses above.
God it just keeps weirder.
I am amused that my normally spot-on closed captioning, that can even manage to decipher Paula-speak, could not get one word of the little African boy’s lipsynched mess.
Also, apparently the poor thing has been taking dance lessons from Gokey.
Did they show Gokey sing at all? And did his homecoming tape last as long as this one? Are they sending us subliminal cues?
God, I hope so!
Y’know, one of the things I always liked about Jordin is that she never fell into that whole “now that I’m famous, I must become a waif” line of thinking; she’s a curvy, solidly-built girl, and IMHO she looks damned hot. She also sounds great- I have to admit that I was initially disappointed that she won Season 6 (the first season I watched with any regularity), but I’ve since decided that American actually knew what it was doing.
Where has Blake been, anyway?
Aw, Scott didn’t stand up for Adam… jerk!
Jordin was clearly the best in a weak field of season six. Blake had a goofy charm, but wasn’t spectacular as a singer or anything.
Adam I think is pretty centered; like he knows the fanfare is a lot of hype and BS. Dave Cook was the same way.
Danny says he just wants it to be over.
I couldn’t agree more!

Wow, subtle Katy.
Subtlety was never her strong suit.
Kris is through… PLEASE don’t let this be a Daughtry moment…
It’s like Christmas morning!
Kris and Adam!!
There is a merciful God!
Wooooohoooooo!!!
As it should be. Whew.
YAY!!!
Honestly, I’d be perfectly happy if Kris wins, since we know Adam can take a 2nd place and run all the way with it… then again, they both could.
What was Simon saying about a “big ding-dong”? I hope to hell he’s not alking about his own…
I said it last night:
This is soooooooooooooo hooorrible
and thank god it sent you home to the cheeseheads. Unfortunately we will have to see him in the finale
I’m sure he’ll have a long career in the Contemporary Christian genre singing about feeling Christ’s glory all over his face to crowds who do that hands in the air thing. Thank God I never have to see him again, though.
