American Idol week of 3/14

Ace just doesn’t have much of a voice. Also, terrible outfit and horrible dancing. But he’s pretty, so he’ll be around for a few weeks.

So much for the new, killer sound system.

oh god. During Ace’s “I met Stevie!” weepy moment I said, out loud, “fucking hell, he’s gonna win.” Then he opened his mouth. What a train wreck. I love him, but forget it.

He also did that NFL defensive player’s “more noise” gesture to the crowd… when they were booing Randy’s accurate critique of his vocal.

What did Pauler say? “…with so many diversities…”? Wish I had taped that, but surely there will be a new one in a few minutes.

yeah, the softie in me was touched to see the Pickler and Elliot tear up when Stevie entered the room, and when Ace did his bit about being completely satisfied with his life.

I even felt like Stevie’s glurgy bit about America coming together to celebrate song was sincere.

Pickler… don’t say anything… don’t talk…

But she does sound good tonight, at least better than Ace…

Now I officially hate The Pick. Sal-mon is one thing, but not knowing about Stevie? He’s not a genre, he’s a legend. fuck her.

dammit, she sounds pretty good too.

(I guess I’m grumpy too, rockle. Sorry all.)

Making them sing Stevie Wonder is actually a pretty good way to sort out who can really sing. So far, we’re 0 for 2.

She sounds alright, but very bland. And not a good makeover.

Again I withdraw from commenting on the performance because I dislike country so, so much. Or maybe it’s just her.

That was pretty bad.

Yeah. Apparently she does, in fact, live under a rock.

Simon is right–she was boring as hell. Marginally better than Ace.

Well, comparing it to Ace it was good…

What did Randy and Paula said, it got shadowed after Simon’s rant…

Gaaaah. Why on earth do they let Pickler talk? Why? And did she recently get her teeth capped, or have they been like this all along? They glow in the dark.

Ooooh, Seacrest gets bitchy–“We can do this for three hours if you want.” I love it.

I missed The Picklers pre-song blather. Did she actually say she never heard of Stevie Wonder before the big silver bird came and got her? No. She didn’t do that. What, is she trying to make me lose the Pick 'em competition?

Well so far Elliot is the only one who really has the chops to handle Stevie Wonder. That must have felt nice getting that kind of validayion from Stevie himself.

Elliott sounds really nervous. His little rehearsal with Stevie was better than this. Come on, Elliott! The teenies will all be voting for Ace, you gotta pull out the vocals!
