Why do the judges insist on praising garbage? That was terrible.
No, Mandisa wasn’t very good
I didn’t think Mandisa was all that great – I mean, she was good enough, but not awesome like I expect her to be. I don’t know that song. I’m bored with this show tonight. I’m hoping for someone to bust out “That’s What Friends are For.”
Is it my ears? Because I really, really want Mandisa to win but that sounded terrible in the beginning and only O.K. in the middle.
Even Simon said she was good?
Eh, Mandisa was still far more interesting to listen to than The Pickler. Loved the sympathetic crying thing she must have had going on when the Blind Stranger walked into rehearsel.
Oh Elliott. I want to hug him and squeeze him and love him and call him George.
The judges can’t hear any better than the contestants. That’s painfully obvious.
Sometimes singers sound different right there in the Hall than they do at home. I know in the past a few times they’d get to the “kick 'em off” show and Simon would say that he listened to the show on TV later that night and re-evaluate something he said.
A theory from my son: Stevie said he really liked Mandisa and the judges didn’t want to contradict.
I could not agree more (well except for the “wanting-to-win” part). The beginning was horrid! I don’t get it.
Poor Mandisa also got a few none-too-flattering camera angles. Loved the barefoot thing, though!
I think it must really sound different in the studio than it does on TV. When the judges “watch it vack,” I think they’ll be surprised at how shakey Mandisa sounded.
Constructive criticism?
I like Bucky’s singing…
BUT HIS HAIR!!! NOOOOO… HORRIBLE!
Puffy Covington needs a new stylist.
Well, he’s not completely ruining the song. But it’s not good.
Hey, at least he washed his hair tonight.
I’m kind of amaxed to say that Bucky is the best of the night so far. At least he stayed in key and he somehow managed to put a country twang on “Superstitious.”
Whoa … who attacked Bucky with the curling iron? The hell? This is the song I thought (hoped?) Chris would sing. Bucky isn’t doing a bad job, but it’s … you know, Bucky. Dangol y’know?
I liked that. And I like his babe hair, too.
It’s Joe Cocker singing Stevie Wonder. Nice suck-up by Bucky about buying Stevie’s albums.
Same hair do as Pickler, I think.
Hahaha. Simon is funny.
My daughter, “I guess Steive Wonder said he looked good with his hair out.”
