Haley’s sing-out was so sad… I hate when they end up with these ridiculously apropos kickoff songs and then warble their way through it.
Best sing-out ever was when Phil Stacey was eliminated after he sang “Blaze of Glory”.

And the castaway voted out of Survivor tonight was Cirie, a black female.
That’s how I felt when making my picks for the pool! I wanted Haeley, Paige, and Todrick gone, and knew Jermaine had really poor chances of staying. I felt like I needed to change it up to some white folks!
Really sad John went over Todrick. John wouldn’t win, but he seems to be a much more decent guy. I had high hopes that he would grow. Sad about Jermaine too, but he was definitely one of the weakest of the singers. Surprised about Michelle, because overall she seemed to be one of the better ones. Knew Haeley would go.
I know we’ve had this discussion already, but this really is the worst year. I think back through other years and… Every year had somebody awesome. Kelly/Justin/Tamyra… Reuben/Clay… Fantasia/LaToya/Jennifer… Carrie/Bo/Vonzell… I mean I could go on and on. Then there were the “controversies”, like Jasmine Trias or John Stevens; trainwrecks like Sanjaya or Tatiana; fun contestants that weren’t ever gonna win but were great while they were around; etc. etc. etc.
Do we have any of that at all this year?
I’m not giving up hope yet. I prefer to think of this season as a bunch of late bloomers.
Amazing that Gokey is still telling the story of his dead wife.
It seems every season the judges/Seacrest crow about how this is the strongest field of contestants EVER. I don’t think I’ve heard that this season.
One thing I’m sure of – five minutes after the show was over, Lee Dewyze was called into the producer’s office and told that if he’s too fucking cool for this show, he knows where the door is.
We all know the group sing numbers are cheesy as hell. That said, they’re a part of the show and a big part of the summer tour. If he’s going to stand there, making the bare minimum of effort, keeping that smarmy “can you believe they want me to do this?” look on his face, then he’s not going to be long for this show.
You’ve got an above-average act, Dewyze – but you keep acting like you’re embarrassed to be there, and that problem will be taken care of for you.
You must have missed Hollywood week.
GAH! I hadn’t watched Survivor yet. Didn’t think I would be spoiled in an AI thread. 
Contrast that with how “too-cool-for-school” Crystal appears to genuinely be having fun during the group sings. I thought she would end up like that Amanda chick with the two-tone hair from…was that last year or two years ago? Anyway, she may as well have had “I hate my life” tattooed on her forehead during those group sings, it was so clear on her face. But Crystal, even though you’d expect her to hate it, at least puts on the big goofy grin and tries to do the dance steps as much as she can.
I was going to mention that, too - I’m not watching Survivor, but seriously, people, don’t spoil something as a complete landmine in an unrelated thread.
David Cook absolutely, it annoyed me to no end how much of a prop his guitar was on the show.
For the voting results, all of the correct ones went home. Extra-special schadenfreude that the preachiest people went home on Danny Gokey night.

Bingo. Hell, Crystal already admitted she’s only in this for the money, but she’s still putting her all into it.
Let’s face it – if you’re on Idol, you’re selling out. I’m not about to bash anyone for doing so…I mean, you’re selling out for a pretty damn tidy sum. But if you’re going to sell out, you might as well go whole hog. Crystal is putting out the effort – Lee is just acting like a douche, and it’s going to cost him in the end.
