Siobhan is kinda crazy, but not in an unstable, Didi sort of way. And she’s a pretty kickass singer. I kinda like this girl.

Siobhan was pretty darn good, not the best of the night, (or as good as her last performance) but "top 4 "good. I like her.

IMHO that’s why all the singers this year are so off and so many of them are boring. They are trying to “make songs their own” by really, really slowing them down or standing them on their heads ans switching genres.
For every time it works (neck tatoo guy with that Paula Abdul song) there’s about 1000 times it comes off sounding really bad. Funeral pacing, like they forget the tune. I agree with Randy - knock off all the crap and just sing the damn song.
The problem is that as soon as they “knock off the crap” and just sing, they get slaughtered by the judges for not “making it their own.” So they get it coming and going.
The problem is that the judges are right, because if you’ve got real talent and charisma, you CAN just stand there and sing and by doing that you ARE making it your own. Cases in point:
David Cook doing “Music of the Night” and, sort of, “Hello”
Adam Lambert doing “A Change is Gonna Come” or “Feeling Good”
Kris Allen doing “Aint No Sunshine” and “Come Together”
Allison Iraheta doing “Alone” and “Cry Baby” and “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and…
SOB I miss season 8!
The only people in this competition so far who have that level of skill are Crystal, and maybe Lilly. A few other people have potential but they haven’t had their moment yet.
The top tier are Crystal, Lilly, Siobhan, and Katelyn; they have each put together two good performances. The next tier are Katie, Paige, and Michelle; they have been inconsistent, but have shown flashes of potential. Haeley, Didi, and Lacey have two bad performances in a row; they are the bottom tier. Just about anyone in the middle tier could beat the guys. The girls are far superior.
