I sort of expected it…there are so many contestants this year that are “quirky girls”, so the “quirky girl” voters are split all over the place.
There will always be a large group of voters that love the teen cheerleader type and Katie is their only choice.
I uysually skip the results show but I’ve watched the last two because of the “nothing else on” factor.
The “drama and tears” act is so silly, come on, someone is going to get kicked out every week. And they kept cutting to Sioban in tears when the unmemorable wimpy looking blonde boy got sent home – did they have something going, I wonder?
It’s kind of fun to contemplate which Stones song each might sing.

Well, on the plus side, doing Rolling Stones songs, they don’t have to worry about being vocally challenged. 
Time was that I’d say “naaa, they won’t go there”. But once Bucky Covington got away with Fat Bottomed Girls, I don’t know if I can say I’d really be surprised by any song choice (at least not until Michael Lynche gives a stunning rendition of Too Drunk To Fuck during Dead Kennedys week).
By the by, everyone – in addition to the current AI game thread, we’re relaunching the old-style of game as well. Head over before next week’s performances and see if you can pick the order in which the Top 12 will be eliminated.

Will take your word for it. I have not been home on any elimination nights and still don’t have a Tivo or DVR, so I rely on the Wisdom of Dopers to tell me what’s up.

Those of us who have now sworn off the season are immediately faced with a quandary: David Cook returns with band to play this Wednesday’s results show!

Hm. Just found out both Kesha and Orianthi are also scheduled to play Idol that night, so one or more of the three may be pre-taping for a later show. However David made a point of announcing it on Twitter while the others are from third-hand sources, so I think David is likely to be live.
