I’m glad you checked in too, Herbs. I hope you mend quickly.

It sounds like you and I had the same kind of day, **gt. ** I had much drama and trauma too, and I’m sick of it all. My boss is delusional. He thinks we’ll be able to knock out a joint funding venture in one day. This a several week project. Hell, it took me four hours just to pull down the data for one set of numbers. The query is huge and unwieldy, but I have to use it. That’s just one of them. Never mind all the additional data that I need to run for costs and benefits for this project. Bleh. He thinks we’re doing this Tuesday. Yeah, I’m still the only analyst in my shop and I have all kinds of reports to run. He informed me those will not be done and I’ll just have to run them later. Yeah, he can explain to the Command why the reports aren’t posted.:mad:

Oops. The oven is beeping. My chicken boobies are done.

blurf

it’s up to you to decide if that’s leftover from Thursday, or a foreshadowing of Friday.
I’ll abide by the concensus.

Prayers for TomKitten’s Godfather and for you herbs.

Expecting a work call. The woman who’s calling called already to let me know she’d call me at 12:30 and later to let me know it would be at 12:00. I do hope she isn’t that nervous all the time, she could end up an an Almodóvar movie…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ YAWN 'Tis <snerk> 69 <snerk> degrees Amurrkin out with a predicted high of only 89 and a 40 percent chance of rain. We did get some rain and tboomers last night early. Need more! Now!

LiLi prayers and good thoughts headed out to TomKitten’s Godfather.

Rosie I say it’s an ongoin’ blurf of three months. :stuck_out_tongue:

Nava I gather this is a potential job offer call? In that case appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed.

Taters and gt sorry for the icky irk stuff. Hope it gets all settled down soon.

This bein’ Amurrkin Memorial Day weekend, a pool gatherin’ is planned for tomorrow. Ribs shall be smoked. People are bringin’ sides and dessert. There shall be beer. Sounds like a party to me!

Now I go in search of more caffiene and brekkie cause tummy is rumbly. Then, irk purtification must commence.

At least it’s Firday and a three day weekend is ahead. YAY!!!

Happy Firday Y’all!

Awake, showered and dressed. **FCD **heard Scruffy this morning and took her out so I got to sleep in - till 6:30!! It was great! He’s getting pulled together now, and we’re off to breakfast, then to Lowe’s, then home so I can do laundry and chores.

It’s already 71° and upper 80s are predicted. That’s SUMMER weather. Bleh.

But for now, I’ll enjoy the cool as we head out to eat. Laterz!!!

No, Moommm - that’s spring weather! Here it’s already 80° with an expected high of 95°, down from a record high of 98° yesterday. And 91% humidity. Ugh.

They showed the rainfall record for the last 4 months. We haven’t even had an inch of rain for each month since January! The Dallas area is finally out of drought mode, but not us. We’s parched, I tell ya!

At least the work AC seems to be working this morning.

Happy Firday, everybody!

My prayers to the A/C gods were answered–todays question is why it never shut down last night. I suspect thermostat swappage is in the cards for today.
The unit is 24 years old. I have a bad feeling about this…

Howdy y’all from irk. I have one appointment at ten a.m. The rest is paper irk stuff and general thumb twiddlin’. Rumor has it we may close around two today.

Alien 24 years is a looooooooooong time for an a/c unit. Just sayin’… Hopefully you won’t have to replace it but still a loooooooooooooong time.

Rebo’s right MOOOOOOM. That’s Spring weather. :stuck_out_tongue:

The Child is home!

Just for the weekend, she’s the Maid of Honor in her Maid of Honor’s wedding tomorrow. Though I guess this wedding means that by the time the CatKid’s wedding occurs in October, tomorrow’s bride will be a matron, right?

Lissen up you suthrun folk, in Merrylande, that’s summer weather, so hesh up! :stuck_out_tongue:

Regarding a/c units, I’ve been told their life is designed for 15 years - anything over that is gravy. And a 24-y/o unit is probably inefficient as all get-out, even at its best. Prepare to bite the proverbial bullet. Ours was a bit over 30 years when we replaced it, altho the previous owners of the house, the ones who installed it, almost never used it. Still, with the new unit, our electric usage is down noticeably.

Back from breakfast and Lowe’s. I’ve got my first load of towels in the washer, and I’m about to start chores. I’ll empty the dishwasher first because that’s easy, then I think I’ll start in our bathroom and work my way to the family room - that’s a pretty efficient approach.

I did lop off 6 new shoots of the paulownia that refuses to die, and I sprayed defoliant on the cut ends at the stump - hope it kills the stoopit thing - I really hate that tree. That’s probably all the yard work for today - too much to be done inside. And off I go…

I am at work, although today is a DONSA (Day of Non-Scheduled Activity), or some people call it a Training Holiday. Well, that’s fine and dandy for our servicemembers, but us sillyvillians have to charge ourselves leave on these days.

Besides, with all the craziness at work, I’m so far behind it’s not even funny. I am hoping that everyone will leave me the hell alone today so I can prep for next week and catch a couple of things up.

Our weather is rainy. This is par for the course. A long weekend arrives and the rain accompanies it. It’s supposed to be fairly decent Sunday, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

Sending good thoughts out for TomKitten’s godfather, Li-Li.

Well, much as I hate to do it, I need to dig into my work.

Well, Mr. Ten O’Clock has not shown. Not that I’m all that surprised cause this particular person does this a lot. Even when called and reminded. :dubious:

Such is life, right?

MOOOOOOM will the next step be to nuke it from outer space?

Master bathroom is clean. Master bedroom is dusted and vacuumed and sorta-tidied. I didn’t make the bed but I never do - it just gets messed up again… :stuck_out_tongue: I’ve also vacuumed the hallway. First load of towels is on the line, second is in the washer. I’m taking a break because despite it being 76 in the house with all the fans going, I’m sweating. Before I attack the hall bathroom, I need a break. Remember, I spend all day at a desk - this physical activity is not part of my routine. Till I retire, I suppose…

**FCD **has run to Lowe’s again for something. I want to go to get a flat of strawberries so I can make some jam. Gotta get pectin, too. And probably sugar - I don’t think I have enough in the house. I’ll do that later.

I dread cleaning this room - my desk seems to accumulate all manner of crap. ugh.

Guess it’s a good thing I got some good sleep last night - I wouldn’t have the energy for this. Housework sucks.

It is 53 minutes until lunch time. I am hungry. Hope I don’t waste away!:stuck_out_tongue:

Second load on the line, 3rd load in the washer, and I guess it’s time to clean the bathroom - I’ve goofed off… er… rested enough.

Except it is lunchtime…

Blurf. At work and staying two hours extra to make up a little for ditching on Monday.

Fourth load in the washer, third on the line, hall bathroom done, dining room done, dishwasher emptied. **FCD **still isn’t back - he got called into work. And he had lunch already. :frowning:

I need to empty the vacuum cleaner canister - doggone, do our cats put out a lot of hair!! I thought it was bad when Bernie was alive… Living room and family room need to be vacuumed, kitchen needs to be swept. I need lunch. Off to the kitchen…

MOOOOOOM we had an early dindin at Sonny’s. Thought you’d wanna know. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thoughts & Prayers for TomKitten’s godfather and {{herbs}}

mr ems is in Texas this weekend - I picked him up from Houston and drove him to his parents as his mom is not doing well. Last Monday she had a “dizzy spell” in the hallway which the docs now think was small stroke. When she fell she split her head open and broke her wrist. They kept her in hospital overnight, put staples in her head and strapped up her wrist as it was to swollen to put a cast on. On Tuesday they gave her a blood transfusion as her red cell count was so low. On Wednesday she was released to go home but had another weakness/dizzy spell and they really aren’t sure right now what to expect over the next couple of weeks. But she is home at least. I got mr ems a plane ticket straight away and took him home. She looked really really frail last night when we got there. I had to leave as I have to travel for work next week again. Bad week. mr ems is trying to be the strong one for his mom, dad and sister but he is struggling with this and I can’t make this better for him. :frowning:

The relocation is moving along and the added stress is really not what we all need at this point.

**swampy **- you suck. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m about to make my first batch of strawberry jam. We shall see how that goes…
