It’s already in the 70s, the sun was shining, it’s a bit cloudy now.
Happy Birthday to the Sah-kid who is now the Sah-son.
That’s right, my boy is 18 today, time to kick him from the nest and send him out into the world.
Like that would ever happen.
I’m skipping the funeral so I can be here when he gets home from school and I don’t know what we are going to do but it will probably involve pizza and donuts and/or ice cream.
Real ice cream from Brewsters.
Jynxster, I’m glad your husband still has a job, but sorry to hear that he has to take a pay cut. Hopefully, something will come along that pays better. In the meantime, there is still some money coming in.
Welp, it’s official. I should be getting a letter soon telling me that I will be furloughed for 11 days; one unpaid day a week. This pisses me off no end. Congress makes DoD pay for equipment (tanks, planes) they have no effing use for, but we, the employees don’t mean a damn thing. Worse, the SecDef has said he can’t guarantee it won’t happen again next year. He signed the memorandum on Tuesday.
My car insurance went up six hundred bucks a year because we put full coverage on my son’s Jeep Grand Cherokee. It’s a nice enough rig, that we feel it should be fully covered and it’s in mine and my husband’s name, so it protects us too. It sucks having males under 25 on your insurance. My son has never had a ticket and drives like a little old lady too. He’s going to be 21 this year. I can hardly believe it. My baby will be a legal adult in every sense of the word.
Happy Birthday to Sah-son!
Well, I should work now. I have a serious case of the Don juanas, but one must earn her pay.
Good news is that my coffeemaker is not broken. The GFI switch was tripped. I thought I put it back on last night when I was checking the dehumidifier to see if that’s what was messing it up. :smack: Bad news is I figured that out one minute before I left the house this morning.
Because of the byproducts of our space program, humans can experience this too.
This brings us to the segment we call Spidey’s Fashion Sense:
If your tuchis postcedes you, significantly, do NOT wear neon & black tiger stripe spandex! The stripes really end up looking like the on/off of a lightning bug. ::shudder::
When what happens; you shave your legs, put on a dress, & it rains???
You know that requires the utterance: Wait, Swampy’s [del]gay[/del] a crossdresser?
Silly Cap’n, I told you I’d drink $2.99’s drinks so you wouldn’t wake up with army-march mouth.
Spidey no mention whatsoever of me in a dress was made. It was a pretty skirt. Pay attention!
The mother of one of my program participants passed away. He is seventy-eight years old. She was a hundred and five. He is her youngest child. His oldest sister is 90. This means his mother was fifteen years old when his sister was born. His mother had twelve kids. This means something like one kid a year for twelve years! This is kinda mind blowin’ to me. She was pretty much pregnant for twelve years! Woah!
Haha sorry Jim. Thanks for allowing me to vicariously drink. I did end up having ONE drink last night, but not enough to do anything
I’ll be “celebrating” more tonight with some friends who are pretty much going to insist that I get sloshed, so wish me luck I guess.
Spamalot was funny. Not my favorite play ever but I got a lot of laughs out of it so yay.
Had an after-play salad at Denny’s for my birthday… kind of… interesting how it worked out but yeah, my friends paid for it so that was nice.
Cried a lot yesterday. Cried more today. One of these days I’m gonna be able to stop crying but not quite yet. I’m still only 27 though so, lots of time to pull myself together and get on with life. I’m trying my best.
Thank you all here in the MMP for the support, the birthday wishes, and all. I really look forward to checking in with you all every day.
We chased the Indians for a while, and then they chased us for a while.
Lots of Indians jumping out of saplings and either knocking themselves unconscious in the boat, or landing further and further out into the water.
We’ve had a busy day. Up early, off to breakfast, then home to put hostas around the third tree in the front. **FCD **moved the firewood to the relocated rack, then mowed the front lawn. I watered the gardens with the MiracleGro sprayer thingie. You would not believe all the cicadas here - all over my plants, plus random wings and exoskeletons all over the flower beds. It’s pretty amazing!
Anyway, after the grubby work, we showered and went to Lowe’s for more mulch, plus a small flat of flowers for one bare patch of garden. We had salads for lunch, then stopped at the old Helen post office which is now the strawberry lady’s stand. I got 6 quarts of berries, and they smell amazing! I’m seeing jam, shortcake, and berries to munch upon in the near future. I’m going to try to freeze some also for future ingestion. Yum!
It’s clouding over - some rain is promised. I don’t care - I’m in for the day. Vegging is underway. Huzzah!!
Happy Thursday, all!! Hugs and smoochies all around!
