An actual Monday morning MMP

My morning giggle: a friend of mine has gone to another state to visit her brother. Several people on fb are commenting on the pictures of the two of them and how much they look alike.

She was adopted!

Happy Firday!

Ditto!

Good Morning Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 63 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 89 for the day and the humidity has returned. Definitely May outside!

Apes you’re doin’ what you do. I’m sure that if you think back you did a lot of the same stuff when the twins were comin’.

PizzaSlut. HEE!

Sari I would be the hit of the adult table!

Now I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, alas, irk purtification must commence. Oh well at least 'tis Firday.

Happy Firday Y’all!

I had dinner last night with two former work colleagues (one is actually my former boss). I miss them both so much! We had a great time and laughed way too hard.

ZOMG. Today is my son’s last day of public education. How did this happen?!???

Today is “Bike to Work” day, and I’m taking the day off so I don’t get to bike to work! My first art show of the season is this weekend, and I have a bunch of stuff I have to do to get geared up.

Happy Firday!

swampy, they need you in Venezuela.

Yes, they know. It’s a *joke *- you know - humor?? :stuck_out_tongue: To be clearer, the kids called the bunny Skip, but the teachers thought that was a dumb name. So one teacher said he should be called Daryl just because, one said Roger after Roger Rabbit, and one said Duracell, because my daughter teachers with a bunch of nut-cases. Hence Daryl Roger Duracell AKA Skip.

Good morning. A certain canine woke me about 6:30, but a certain other adult in the house was well-drugged because of allergies, so guess who got to tend to said canine this morning? So I’m enjoying some quiet time for the moment.

**FCD **is planning to ride his motorcycle to Baltimore to see my sister since she’s working at the bar today and he wants to do a sorta-long ride. I’ve got a dozen little flowers to get in the ground (yeah, I know I said no more planting) and then I’m going to do some mad mulching. Fortunately, it’s not going to be as hot today as yesterday, so there’s that.

Oh yeah - I’ve got to clean strawberries today. I sent a quart home with Daughter last night, and we’ve been noshing on the rest, but there are still tons of berries to be washed, hulled, and readied for consumption. I’m thinking strawberry shortcake would be nice - I need to find a recipe. And when FIL is here next week, it’ll be strawberry pie. Plus jam. Yeah, I’ll be buying more berries…

Happy Thursday!

Today, I shall be attempting to bake a birthday cake for a friend. If anyone sees smoke rising from the house, you *probably *don’t need to phone the fire brigade- that’s just my normal cooking attempts. I have no idea why I’m not just buying one

True, but you care. It’s akin to cleaning a house before you go on vacation so you don’t come home to a mess. You know that soon enough, you’re not going to have time for that. Or, you could just be crazy. I’m not saying it’s not a possibility, but having watched gaggles of my pregnant friends suddenly decide that the garage the baby will never be in needs to be organized right the hell now, I recognize the behavior. Plus, you’re probably tired of waiting and need something to do. So you clean the crap out of that place if you want to.

It’s a lovely morning here, but I’m annoyed that dog-friend woke me up at 5 a.m. to tell me that Roomie left for work. So I spent an hour and a half lying in bed, waking up every five minutes to remind the canine dancing on my mattress that he doesn’t get walked until at least 6:30, and I would gleefully strangle him if he made another sound. It’s going to be a long, boring day, but I’m going to the movies tonight, and then I have a lot to do this weekend in order to get ready for next weekend’s combination trip/wedding/photo shoot, so I’m going to spend most of the day annoyed that I’m just sitting at my desk when I could be home doing something useful.

Happy Firday!

Got my window open because it’s beautiful outside and cooler out there than it is in here.

I’ve been up since 6, caught up with a friend who works nights and had a loooooog chat on the phone.

Now I’m going to lay down for a half hour before IRK, cause now the sleepies are hitting me.

Isn’t today Firday!!!

I know! We’re tryin’ to get Jim to organize TPAid. We need a catchy song like We Are The World or Do They Know It’s Christmas?. Any ideas or songs just layin’ around waitin’ to be sung by a lot of famous musicians?

Y’all are welcome for those two earworms. It’s my pleasure.

Yeah, I was just testing… :smack:

That’s the problem with being retired - one day is like the other… :stuck_out_tongue:

My parents never have any idea what day it is … to the point that I once called them from the airport to find out where they were only to have Mom say “But you’re not coming until Friday!” My parents both retired ridiculously early (51 and 53, I believe), so they’ve had slightly more than a decade to completely lose track of everything.

TGI…BLURF

I woke up so sick this morning. I slept past 8am and as a result I didn’t get the twins ready for daycare. So now they’re staying home with me. I guess if I have to take a phone calls from work I’ll just have to hide in the bedroom. It will be an interesting day between my frog like voice and two rambunctious kids. Everytime I cough it feels like my chest is on fire.

Two nummy, delicious, moist homemade vanilla cupcakes magically appeared on my desk a few minutes ago. Now they have magically disappeared.

Honestly I don’t even remember! The first few months before and then about 6 months after were a complete blur to me with the twins

Perhaps they could sing this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iab9YKocUcw

My cousin has 3-year-old twins, and his sister recently had her first baby. She was running around like a crazy person trying to quiet the baby, find diapers, etc. I looked over at Twin-Cousin and said “Do you ever look at people with one baby and think psht … amateur?” He said “ALL THE TIME.”

That has very little to do with what you’re going through, but he’s my favorite cousin and that story cracks me up.
