An actual Monday morning MMP

Sari that’s brilliant! Maybe Jim can get Donovan to be one of the musicians even!

I’ve been hot-air ballooning for almost <Egads, am I that old!> 20 years, first gas ballooned in '98 & have done special shape heliums for over 10 years now. I’ve also done a number of balloon festivals; at least 8 states & a number of multi-state flights (which isn’t all that hard when you start about 100 yards from the neighboring state.)
I also have (35mm) pix at home of the bunny going thru a field on the other side of a tree line. (& if pink bunny ears higher than the trees aren’t enough to make you give up drinking, one of the photos has Mrs. Butterworth’s balloon in the shot, too. Yup, it’s in the shape of a syrup bottle!) There is also Nelly-B, a pink elephant (head) balloon also, so you don’t need to be too drunk to see a pink elephant.
I don’t know who that bunny pilot was because they had a female pilot for a number of years, who I’ve had Thanksgiving dinner with for the past 4 or 5 years.

Apes, you give me an idea. Anyone know a local, pregnant maid? She’d be the most awesome house cleaner!

Seriously.! I look at new parents with one baby and how they just hover and dote and freak out about every little thing. Its rather amusing. For example, right now, my twins have gotten themselves up and it turned on Netflix without me. And if I don’t hurry up and go out there soon they will probably be getting into something for breakfast. Lol. One advantage of twins is they really learn how to be independent and work together to get what they want much quicker than single kids.

Mrs. Butterworth’s bottles turned into other things always amuses me, because I remember my college roommate dumping syrup down the drain so she could make a bong out of the bottle.

MIL (1.0) told me that when she dropped the first baby’s bottle, she would sterilize it and fill if with new formula before she fed it to the kid.
By number three, she picked it up, wiped the nipple on the seat of her pants and stuck it into Mrs. Plant (v1.0)'s little face.

You are supposed to use Honey Bears, silly roomie.

Up, Caffinating and moving slow. I have two nights ahead at the Casa de Rock and a Sunday show with the hippies. Going to be busy but fun. One of the bands tonight is Poor Dumb Bastards (NSFW), they are kinda legendary here. I will see if I can get them to write a song for TPAid, it will be crass and wrong but funny.

Need more caffeine
Jim

Break/lunch time! I planted 6 marigolds and 6 salvia, transplanted 4 or 6 daylilies, did some weeding, moved 8 bags of mulch out of my car, and dead-headed some roses. I’m going to move the sprinkler, then have some lunch… leftover sketties - yay!

Monday is a holdiay here, so I have Monday off school. And they’re giving me Tuesday off work, too. So, 4-day weekend!

I really like my work. I do all sorts of different things. Everyone’s really nice. And some of my coworkers are pretty good-looking.:slight_smile:

Mrs. Butterworth is creepy! EEK!

Jim somehow crass and wrong sounds right for TPAid.

Howdy from da cave. I got tired of bein’ at irk and since I can do paperirky stuff just as well here, here I am. I am irkin’ for a little while. Really. Honest.

Crass rhymes with ass, there’s the first rhyme for the song.

“Frass” is another rhyme. It means insect poop.

You guys really should look up the Poor Dumb Bastards, your suggestions thus far are spot on for them. I will talk to Byron and Mike tonight, they are the main songwriters.

The divorce is moving along, we are having lunch next week.

Get to hang out with the cute red head on Sunday

One thing ends another begins

Jim

Bro and his gf are about halfway here. Yay!

One of my brothers, the actual middle child of five, did not walk until he was 18 months old. That was, I suspect, mainly because crawling could get him into just about anything he wanted. Literally. He is part of many family tales, but one of the funniest (though not at the time let me assure you, at least to our Mom) was a Saturday morning that Mom was sleeping in late. The kids were up, of course, and fending for ourselves, playing and/or watching tv. When it got a bit too quiet, she got up and went looking for us. One brother and I were doing fine, on our own, playing with stuffed animals or whatever. The youngest, though, well… he had gone into the kitchen, climbed up onto the counter, and gotten into the jar of molasses! I certainly do NOT know how he did it, but he was able to get the top of the jar open and spilled molasses all over the counter, himself, everything! I’m guessing that he wanted to have pancakes for breakfast! Oh, Mom freaked out (can you imagine the clean-up of molasses?!), but all ended up well. He was the youngest right then but ended up being the middle kid, btw.

Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday. Happy belated birthdays to: Jim, $2.99 and anyone else that I am missing. It’s the heat, folks - we hit 90 degrees yesterday; the forecast is for 86 today. My apartment complex does NOT have the swamp coolers turned on yet. :frowning: So the heat is beastly. At least it’s not humid! LOL Pray for cooler weather here, please!!

Cake appears… edible? Better than the last effort anyway.

Amusing self by looking through ‘Cake Wrecks’ and listening to ‘Macarthur Park’.

Ooooh! CakeBoss should make a MacArthur Park Cake - with rain-melted icing and everything!

Burgers and fries for dindin. All homemade by chef bear. Just feels like a grilled burger with homemade fries kind of day. Did I mention I am also bein’ entertained by the sounds of a roof bein’ put on da cave? It’s lookin’ good and appears to be almost done. No flies on this roofin’ company! Six guys up there roofin’ away.

Ok, back to irk.

Took the day off irk to get some stuff done for next weeks vaca. Picked up passes for a fantasy and scifi art convention this weekend, got a new watchband for TheElf’s watch. Have started sorting through clothes and vending stuff for said vaca.

It’s been a pretty good day so far.

Back from grocery-ing. I got pectin for strawberry jam. I’d cleaned the berries before leaving, so they’re good to go. I think I’ll cut up and measure the berries tonight, plus measure out the sugar, and make sure I’ve got enough clean jars. Then I’ll make the jam in the morning. We’re promised rain throughout the day tomorrow, so making jam is a nice indoor activity.

**FCD **called while I was out - he left Baltimore just before 2, so he should be home around 4-ish, depending on traffic. I should probably think about what to make for supper. Dessert is easy - I got an angel food cake and some whipped cream - pseudo-strawberry shortcake! I need something easy for supper - maybe chickie strips??

It’s a loverly spring day - wish we could have a few more weeks like this!

just how many guys does it take to put on a new blue tarp? :stuck_out_tongue:
