An actual Monday morning MMP

Put in for unemployment anyways. The worst they can do is say no. And if you’ve got the emotional resources, you might contact an employment lawyer or the state labor board, because if they’ve got a pattern of releasing temps before the drop dead date, they’re committing some form of fraud.

I’m packing up most of my things today. 2 more weeks in Houston, 2 more weeks in this house, 2 more weeks with the dogs that I love, one of whom who my ex no longer wants and whom I cannot take care of so I will certainly never see him again and the other who belongs to my ex who I will probably never see again. 2 more weeks of seeing my friends here. 2 more weeks of counseling and trying to sort myself out. Then back to the boat, and then onward with life.

Dang Count sorry about the job situation. I second filin’ the unemployment claim. The worst that can happen is they deny the claim.

Thank You! Its in NJ… I work in CS and Tech Support, both phone & chat based. I’ve done mortgage & loan servicing as well as payroll. I’m also unpublished and have a few things saved (yeah, I know, write fast, rabbit…).

And in my free time, I may be doing a lot of over-due yard work, so I might peek over your shoulder re: threads on gardening for pointers.

I’m positive they are skirting, but the apple they hold out to people about a permanent job with actual benefits keeps the repeat players from complaining. The recruiter sold this as a perm job. Then said it was 2 jobs; one perm, one project based. Then only the one project based, leading to full-time. I was full time with benefits when she sold me this job; I’d love to know if she was ethically bound to tell me this as just temp work with no future.

And Thank You, Swampbear…!

Hi, Jynx -
I have a full subscription to consumer reports online if’n you want a snapshot of the washer(s) you’re looking at. QUOTE]

I has PMed you. Tank you so much for anytime you devote to my dishwasher woes. People here are so nice!

I has a hungry and have a half an hour of irk left and nothing but a left over packet of duck sauce staring forelornly at me.

Early dindin of steak, green sallit, friggin’ good N.O.T. and cheesey bread. Now OYKW has gone back to his place to unpack and crash. He drove back from the wilds of West Alabammy today and he’s tahrd, poor thing! Not to worry, he was appropriately welcomed home.

I HAVE MEDIA!!!

::does happy dance all over the frickin’ place::

Although I have several health problems, I rarely get sick. But now my immune system of steel has failed me, and I seem to have a cold. Will still try to go about my daily life as normally as possible, though.

Rosie
yaaaaaay!!!

When **FCD **came home, he helped me take down the laundry - he’s good people! So laundry is done and put away. Supper was OK - the cornish game hen was kinda meh - I should have used my rotissin’ rub. The risotto was OK - and from reading comments on AllRecipes, it wasn’t real risotto. Whatever. We’s full and that’s that.

I finished my afghan last night, so knittage will be hats for a while, I think. I’ve got lots of yellow yarn - wonder if it’s enough for a shawl - I might try that. Or lots of yellow hats. We shall see…

Resolved: Local news reporters should know how to pronounce the names of local rivers, cities, counties, and other suchlike stuff. Idiot on Channel 7 news doesn’t know how to say Magothy.

“mah-go-thee”, right? or “m’goth-y”?

How did they fix it, oh Cute One?

MAG-uh-thee (th as in thin) The reporter used your second pronunciation. I’m guessing she ain’t from around here. Or maybe because my grandparents used to own a cabin on the Magothy, I assume the name is common knowledge.

I grew up around Towson - rhymes with COW-son - and frequently mispronounced as TOE-son. My childhood home was on Amuskai Road - uh-MUS-key, of course.

They sent the top guy for making apartment connections happy.

Time to assume the position - catch ya in the morning!!!

Did it say that on his uniform cause if’n that were my job I’d want it to say that on my uniform.

MOOOOOOM you Merrylanders tawk funnee. :stuck_out_tongue:

A very happy birthday to my favourite composer, Sir Arthur Seymour Sullivan. heh, his initials are A.S.S.! He’s been, directly and indirectly, the cause of so, so much of my happiness these past 9 years.

Moved pizza up a night so dinner tonight was pizza for the kid and cheeseburger sub for me.

I’ve got everything done but clean the dogs ear.

My aunts funeral is Thursday, which is also Sah-Kids birthday. I guess I will go to the funeral and come right back home for him.

Yay Rosie

FCM way back when I was married my ex kept talking about the ‘pot o MAC’ For the longest time I couldn’t figure out what a ‘pot o MAC’ was.
Finally I figured out he meant Potomac.
But you are right, newscasters should know the correct way to pronounce what they are talking about.

I remember one holiday meal with a heated discussion amoung the cousins about what a woman’s initials should be after she gets married; whether the middle initials should be her middle name or her maiden name. One of those options gave my sister those same initials!
