An Arty MMP

TGIF!

Just about three more hours and then I’m free! Well…free of being at work, anyway.

I’m curious as to which Vancouver you mean too, taxi. Vancouver, B.C is about a four hour drive from Kent. Just so you know. Vancouver, WA is about two hours.

On the other hand, I don’t know what would be interesting in Vancouver, WA, other than spots along the Columbia River…maybe.

At any rate, while you’re here in Washington, give me a wave! I live about 20-25 miles south of Kent.

I’m COMPLETELY unmotivated today. I attended a two+ hour briefing and before that, put out various little reports. Now, I don’t want to do a damn thing. But, I’ll be a good lil’ employee and finish my lunch time reports and probably do my birth month annual on-line training. Bah!

TTFN! Hugs, gropes and smooches to all.

Too funny! Simul-post with taxi!. I figured your schedule would be way too full to meet up. Enjoy it up here. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate!

I missed the 'splosion (as I knew I might) because I was in the basement cursing VHS tapes. That’s why the Good Lord and Programmers gave us internet video!

Smokestack go boom!

Yes, I am a pyro.

Very cool, Spaz!!

TGIF! I got nothin’ to do today - no finals, no homework, no nothin’. I stayed in bed til 2:30 PM and I stubbornly to refuse to accomplish any “work” whatsoever.

Oh, and the school’s little convenience store thingy had mispriced their frozen breakfast burritos - they were 99 cents instead of $2.69! The freezer is now full of Bacon, Egg, Cheese and Salsa burritos for my munching pleasure, since the place takes Meal Plan money. Unfortunately, I have nothing to drink right now. I think I’m gonna go rectify that.

Thanks for the support w.r.t grading issues - I know I deserve the A, and I think I’ll get it, but it’s still really stressful to have my final score hanging up in the air at the whim of my lovable but incompetent professor.

Yes, we do realize it’s a bit of a drive. But it’s probably the closest we’ll be so might as well make a side trip while we’re in Seattle. It is still somewhat tentative, though, so if we all decide that 8 hours in the car together sounds like a bit much, we can do something else. (The friends we’re staying with are a former coworker and her husband. We know Coworker well, but barely know Husband at all. So… it could be interesting spending a long car ride together if we don’t all hit it off.)

I’m glad I’m not the only one who’s completely unmotivated. The next 2 hours are going to be extremely dull.

Howdy Y’all! WOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Work week is ovah!!!

I’m especially happy today cause today was just right out of the lower bowels of Satan’s dwellin’ place. ATT in all it’s wisdom is slowly but surely puttin’ a new billing system in place. Today was the start of billin’ conversion for Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Bein’ as they are all southeastern states we were flooded with calls of course. The thing is, normally no big deal but during a conversion there’s all kinds of stuff that can’t happen or takes like two hours longer than usual to happen. Thus, reps have to submit a form and a specialized team (I was part of that today) makes the stuff happen. I managed to take 15 minutes to wolf down a sammich for lunch and a couple times to go pee. I was supposed to get outta there at two-thirty this afternoon and left at three-fifteen. It would have been even later, but I sneaked out a side door when nobody was lookin’.

Chirp you have a chance to redeem yourself this year. You must go to the Iowa state fair and comment upon the food-on-a-stick. You have an obligation now to make an entire MMP OP out of it.

gt schedule her for that Monday whenever it is.

Spaz way cool video! I love me a good implosion!

I do not want to go to that gradyooashun tonight. However, go I must, so go I shall. Woe is me.

Oh well, afterwards we’re goin’ to the good Eyetalian place for dindin so there’s that.

-swampbear (abuser of the  smilie)

Shrug, I still haven’t understood why anybody would want to buy drugs, period, but then, I get drunk-like symptoms just by having my boss be a moron (seriously) and I’ve been told that it’s impossible to enjoy The Wall while not on drugs (I own it, I like it and I don’t take drugs), so maybe I’m just naturally deggurd or something.

I’ve had a supervisor (lab manager) offering grass to the workers at the endish of a company party, once everybody higher-up than him had left, thus offending even the guy who was known to need periodic reminders that you Do Not Go To Work While High, because “damn it, when you’re the highest-ranking guy in the room you’re supposed to tell people to behave, not go offering illegal stuff.” And I’ve had coworkers and bosses who came in looking like death warmed over and refrozen but who perked up amazingly well after a trip to the bathroom. None of them were particularly good at their jobs imo, but then, I have weird standards :stuck_out_tongue:

PS: is it bad that I keep wondering when will Wolverine be released on video?

Nava why would one want to unleash a wolverine upon one’s videos?

We’s all gussied up and clean for the gradyooashun. Which means, I suppose, that soon we should leave. Le sigh. I really don’t wanna! I’d rather sit by the pool quaffin’ beerverages on a nice, warm, sunny late afternoon/early Firday evenin’.

However, I shall be an adult and go.

:: Pout ::

swampy, I must protest. Everyone knows that the Minnesota State Fair is the place to go for food on a stick.

Sad, though, that the only article I could find about it was from New Orleans.

My sojurn into Lower Academia (Translation: Everything on campus which is NOT situated atop Mount Doom, the big steep hill atop which my appartment is located) in search of sustenance was successful!

My curent meal plan allows me 14 meals per week. On any given day, there are four “meals” available - Breakfast (8am to 11am), Lunch (11am to 4pm), Dinner (4pm to 7:30pm) and Late Night (8pm to 2am). I can only use one of my 14 meals during any of those blocks, so if I buy food at 11:15am, I can’t buy anything else (with my meal plan, anyway) until 4pm.

I arrived at the on-campus sub shop at 3:55 and purchased (using my Lunch meal)a footlong Roast Beef sub with pepperjack cheese, lettuce tomato, onions, horseradish mayo, and steak sauce, and I got a little bit of Cajun mayo too thanks to a blunder by the sandwich-maker. No biggie, Cajun mayo is prolly delicious on Roast Beast anyway. Immediately afterwards, I took my sammich and accompanying drink with me to the dining hall, where I used my Dinner meal to get in and gain access to all manner of delicious edibles. After dinner had been consumed, I took my sub sammich and my drink and hit the road - the sammich will be saved for later, thus eliminating the necessity of a second trip down from Mount Doom the next time I get hungry and ensuring I don’t waste any of my 14 meals by not using them.

Oh, and I managed to smuggle a Seafood Salad Sandwich on Crossoint with Lettuce and Bacon, and a Fried Chicken Sammich with Lettuce, Mayo and Cheddar, and a slice of chocolate cake with cherry topping out of the dining hall in my sub sammich bag. Without any of my foods mixing. It’s an art, trust me.

I am beginning to suspect I’ve devoted way too much time and effort to minimizing the amount of work I have to do in order to eat on campus. I’ve practically gotten using all 14 of my weekly meals, always having food available when I’m hungry, and making the minimum number of trips to/from my appartment down to a science.

Anyway, today is being spent lounging around the appartment in naught but pajama pants and my Monty Python and the Holy Grail boxers, listening to music and playing Super Smash Bros with Alex Roommate on the Wii. Now THIS is the higher education I signed up for!

You’re a good guy, Unca Swampy.

I’m sad. My old dog Blaze isn’t doing well. A couple of days ago I noticed he was chewing his leg a bit, but today I find he’s really messed up BOTH his legs, and the sores are infected. He has a rash across his belly, too. I gave him some Benadryl per the vet’s direction, and he’s going in tomorrow.

I think he’s chewing his legs because they hurt, dammit. He’s had a progressively harder time getting up and walking for months now. His back legs are not working, or they hurt so much from arthritis that it amounts to the same thing. He’d rather piss himself than go outside.

:frowning: This is the beginning of the end, I think. I don’t know what to do. He moans, poor baby. I hope the doctor will give him some pain meds, as well as the antibiotics he obviously needs…

<sniff>

Aw Rebo, I’m sorry. I hope the vet can do something to make your doggy better.

I’m home and have started my weekend. I’m enjoying a nice, frosty, pina colada. It’s tres yummy!

Didn’t read. Am off to see Star Trek with TH. My girlfriend stood me up for dinner.
More later. Hope all are well.

OMG! OMG! OMG! I might maybe possibly get to go to Paris for a few days the week after next!!!:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

There are some details I have to work out (such as getting my passport renewed tout de suite), but it’s an actual possibility and would have the added benefit of allowing me to hang out with FarAway Best friend and her family for a whole week. So…good thoughts, prayers, mojo etc., please!

::stops to catch breath and actually remember what’s going on with everyone else::

So sorry about Blaze, Rebo.

Your mad meal acquisition skillz leave me in awe, Moonie.

taxi’s and Muppet’s vacations sound like lots of fun too. My cousin is in school in Vancouver BC and I’m dying to go visit him.

So you’re going on a date with TH, rigs? :dubious: Owwwwww! Don’t hit me.

Hope the graduation wasn’t too painful, swampy.

Sounds like I should be signing people up for MMPs following both the Iowa and Minnesota state fairs.

OK…gotta get back into possible trip planning mode. Maybe. If things work out. I could be so excited about this…::jumps up and down::

GT

Hie thee to Paris, gt!

Exhausted - yesterday I had an interview, a meeting, a full day of classes, plus a company dinner. I still haven’t finished my literature quizzes due this week. And it’s raining buckets. Grumble.

I think I love you.

I’m home and tired, work went OK. these late night trips to the airport take a lot out of you.

Moonie, your food skills rock! My friends and I used to do the same thing at NCSU.

{{{{Rebo}}}}

No worries, taxi… Sunday is our last day over on the West Coast anyways, so it’ll be spent running around saying our goodbyes to all of The Boy’s relatives. I’m just amused at the idea of both of us ending up in the same city at the same time, given that neither of us lives anywhere near there.

(I’m easily amused, obviously)

gt, fingers crossed that you get to go to Paris. I’ve never been, but I’ve heard nothing but good things. Have a croissant or two for me, wouldja?

{{Rebo and Blaze}}

I can but try. So, we went to the movie and I laughed during the movie because it is just so cheesy. TH is not a Star Trek fan (but doesn’t hate it, either). I asked him how he liked it afterwards and he said he did. That was the extent of our conversation.

Oh, well. At least I got out for a bit. We could have exchanged that many words here at home and I wouldn’t have seen the movie!
it was cheesy as hell, but I liked it, too.

Paris, FRANCE, I hope, gt. Bon voyage!
Will try to read more tomorrow, promise.

ooooooooh - Paris! I am envious! Hope you work out all the details!

Up early, naturally. Forecast for today is T-storms all afternoon and night. I don’t see any boat work getting done. Oh well. I’ve got a pile of Paddy Green yard to make the Celtic Knot afghan for the kids. And I could always push the vacuum around. Maybe clean the kitchen.

Good times, good times.

I want breakfast.

Yeah, I’m envious too. I’ve always wanted to go to Paris and these are the people I’d most like to go to Paris with. But I need to figure out money and get some key work stuff organized so that it gets done while I’m gone. And this will be especially a trick because one of the people I’d normally count on to coordinate stuff when I’m out is also out that week and can’t change his plans. But my boss will be madder at me if I don’t go, so I’m trying to find a way to do this. Also…I really want to go.

So, thanks for the encouragement, everyone.

Aww, rigs, at least you laughed during the movie. I went to see it again. I think the fact that it’s not ashamed to be cheesy is one of its best qualities.

Nice to see you stop by, Haze!

OK…gotta get moving. I’m due at my friend’s at 9:00 and am nowhere near ready to go.

Happy Saturday, everyone!
