Yay for Mr. GilaMonster!!!
I’m getting creakier, but no chronic pain (yet). Appendages crossed.
My work hasn’t been totally sucky this week, but that might only be because I took Monday and Tuesday off.
Just ate some quesadillas and am contemplating what else should be part of dinner. Maybe some green beans.
Off to contemplate the evening…
Hugs.

mmmmmm - soup and fresh bread. Muy yum!! I’m stuffed! I’ll have some for lunch tomorrow, too.
**FCD **and I just finished signing a bajillion pieces of paper for our loan application. He’ll hand the envelope off to FedEx tomorrow. Here’s hoping all goes well with the appraisal - that’s really my only concern, in light of the market. But I’m pretty sure we’ll be fine - after all, the house next door just sold for more than we’re refinancing, and it doesn’t have a garage, plus it was an “as is” sale.
Anyway, that’s the only excitement in my life at the moment. That and a serious lack of chocolate.
I wasn’t really suffering with any sort of long term or chronic pain until about 10 months ago. It’s associated with the girly problems, so I’m hoping the upcoming surgery will change that.
TMI alert: I’m constantly cramping. All day long, every day. Add the lower back pain which usually accompanies my cycles and I’m not in a good place.
As I said above, I’m hoping the surgery will cure all that mess.
I still have my kids’ art from daycare and school, Dotty. They’re 17 and 20 now.
I’m glad Mr. GilaMonster is safe and getting out.
Chop-chop tonight will be Chicken and Dumplings. I didn’t have time to make them last night, so will make them tonight.
Later y’all. It’s almost time to log off, lock-up and start my weekend!
I ran into my coffee shop buddy today at the coffee shop. I haven’t seen him in two weeks. It is stupid how giddy this makes me.
Time for pre-bed relaxation. It’s gonna be an 11-hour day tomorrow.
this isn’t the NYE guy who lives at the Y, is it?
Great news about MrGilaMonster!
I am so glad that tomorrow is FIRDAY, and even better, that Monday is a holiday!
I, unfortunately, have problems with both knees–they’re shot to hell and quite arthritic. I need knee replacement but am wary of it. I don’t know what I’m going to do. Currently, I’m using a rollator to get around (it’s a pushable, wheeled walker), and taking relafen twice a day. And my knees still ache terribly, more some days than others. It beats the alternative though.
Four down, one to go! And Rosie’s signature, where applicable.
herbs - message me in facebook - I can talk you through what to expect from knee replacement surgery
but right now I am going to sleep
Good on MrGilaMonster!
We’re supposed to be getting more information (i.e., something) on the dissertation process next week. So far the information we have is little and contradictory. Oh, and for the first half of the semester I have two classes with a teacher who’s good but assumes we all want a PhD… which she doesn’t have, and she ain’t no spring chicken :dubious:
Dear major anxiety attack,
Please GO AWAY!!!
Thank you.
What do you know, I’m first on four without even trying!
I am so happy that GilaMonster’s spouse and friends will be heading home so quickly. What a devastating situation it is, and my prayers continue to be with the people left to sort things out.
First thanks for the grope, especially since bobbio has apparently cast his eyes elsewhere! You make a girl feel…special, lol! (I know, just don’t go there!) Anyway, many of my ailments are chronic, some are surgical needs, and everything is, of course, exacerbated by my weight. Being on disability bites, and I am jumping (ha!) through the final hoops before having weight loss surgery. Then I need to have carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists (the right one is so bad, I never should have let it go this long) and after losing “enough” weight I am looking at knee replacement. My knees were damaged before I gained the weight I am carrying now, and they are a persistent pain, literally as well as figuratively. Arthritis, spine troubles, autoimmune issues and fibromyalgia will still be with me, but the arthritis and the back pain will both be lessened by the weight loss. I have 6 more months of water aerobics and dieting before the State will okay my surgery, but I have done everything else, and the only negative issue has been the h.pylori, and I have the antibiotics to clear that up with. I have the pain issues that I do because, after losing five years while over-medicated with first oxy’s and then morphine I detoxed myself (cold turkey; stupid in hindsight, but I lived, so…) I am unwilling to become addicted to pain medication again. Tra-la that is the story behind my woes for those who missed it on the first go around and might be interested. If anyone has questions, feel free to ask! I do appreciate the care and concern from you guys, and I am determined to post more frequently this year.
Today was my monthly dr. visit to weigh in and talk about my diet, so technically I am one month down toward my wls, yay. It has been freakishly warm this winter, and today I was told that there are snowdrops blooming in gardens around town. My doc said that she had spring fever, but I know that we still have several months of winter left and am not holding my breath. There will still be snow and ice and wind, depend upon it.
Aw pie, I totally understand and empathize. Feel better soon, don’t forget to breathe deeply and regularly.
Now I need to make my bed, freshly laundered sheets are one of the small joys in life, agreed?
The UK would appreciate it deeply if you Northernmost Colonials would kindly take your weather back.
Yay! It’s Firday. Double Yay! It’s raining in the UK. That means some of the snow and ice will finally get washed away and maybe it’ll be a bit less dangerous to be out there walking around again.
'im indoors has finally got the Wii working, it was apparently getting some kind of interference from either the xBox 360 or the PS3 so it wouldn’t work properly. Now it’s all sorted out and working so I felt obliged to spend 40mins last night faffing about on it. I may do some more tonight, depending on how the time goes.
I’m planning on a nice quiet day at work, then grocery shopping, leftovers for dinner when we get back, and then maybe some Wii-ing and a soak in the bath. Saturday we’re off to London to see Cirque du Soleil’s “Varekai” show so that will be fun. I’ve booked us into a swanky hotel in Kensington for the night and since we’re travelling by train, we can upgrade to first class for the paltry sum of £15 each way. The cats will be unhappy as they’ll have to survive for the night on whatever food I leave out for them tomorrow but they will get some treats when we get home on Sunday afternoon. I’m sure they’ll pass the time sleeping and then sleeping a bit more.
Oh, and put me on the no-chronic-pain list too, thank you!
If it were in my power to do so Nava I certainly would. While the weather has been easy on people and certain animals like the deer, it does not bode well for the salmon. If there isn’t sufficient snow melt off during the spring and summer, they can’t get upstream to spawn. It has been weird weather for certain, I wonder if my predictions of snowstorms in the near future will come here, and soon! In the meantime, dress warmly and try to avoid the icy spots!
Howdy Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN
Hope you’re feelin’ better CutiePie.
kai sounds like you’re on your way! Good luck with the weight loss. I figure take it one thing at a time, right?
Tomorrow’s weather calls for steady rainfall with temps in the mid 50s. Truthfully, that’s more of a Winter day here in south Jawja. Cool and rainy. Of course, I have to go to work.
Ok, rumbly tummy wants to be fed.
Happy Firday Y’all!
VWife had both changed at the same time, so I can answer some questions, too. And you don’t have message me in Facebook if you don wanna.
Wiki, you’re still my favorite grope.
'morning bear! Yeah, that’s how I figure it. Separate the issues and prioritize which area to work on first. I am going to miss potatoes though, both sweet and irish, as well as winter squash. And other veggies which I had no idea were in the carb category. Ah well, it will be worth it to be a hot gramma, lol!
Yes.
That was us Southern Colonials. We send you our weather once we’re done with it anyway (see: hurricanes).
Off to a long day at irk.
Hmmm, where should I be going, then…?
Sounds like you’re taking on your health issues, one by one and by the horns! You’ll be one hot grandma, all right… I shudder to think what kind of effect you’ll have on the likes of **Bobbio **and me, when that happens!
**Pie **-- if MrGilaMonster gets evacuated through Cuba, we’ll call him the "Havana Gila"! Yay for them getting out of Haiti, in any case. Once they’re in the Dominican Republic, they’re basically half-way home, already
smacks Nooner with a wet trout Bad pun. Bad! Bad!
Hurray for the good news, Pie! That’s a little bit of sunshine on an otherwise yucky Friday morning.
So the verdict is in, and I am madly in like with Charming Mofo’s ladyfriend. In fact, if they break up, I think I might keep her, because she’s just that adorable. I’m just glad to see him dating someone for once who isn’t a) crazy, b) flaky, c) insanely jealous of his female friends or d) all of the above.
I’m also kinda sorta hung over this morning. Which is annoying, because I only had two pints of beef last night… like I posted on Facebook, if this is what my 30s are like, I want my 20s back.
