An Early Santarchiac MMP

Woohoo! It’s Friday, it’s payday (for me, anyway), and it’s a positively balmy 2C/36F outside with much of the surface snow having melted away. Even better, the next week or so looks pretty much like more of the same. Looks like southern Ontario managed to avoid the nastier effects of the Greenland block, and that’s just fine by me considering this is supposed to be the coldest part of winter. I suppose we’ll probably catch up by having a nasty February though.

Busy but relatively dull around here otherwise. Trying to get some new music done but being tempted by playing a game or two on the new vid card. I need discipline, dammit! (No, that isn’t an invitation to any dominatrices that may be present.)

Work beckons.

Happy Friday! It’s ainy and icky here, but thankfully not cold.

Great news about MrGilaMonster!! That is such an awful tragedy. :frowning:

I’m on my out the door to get my blood tested to see if I am truly in menopause. Uh-oh, I may never have the excuse of PMS again! I hope I’m done! Cross your fingers.

Yesterday was definitely a long day at irk. At every turn, someone was interrupting me with inane and insane questions. I barely got any actual work done.

Three hours into today, and, knock wood, it’s been OK so far. Now it’s just the requests that are insane. Just the usual junk like requests for access that is actually impossible.

SIL’s new office PC is here. It’s a zippy little thing. Now I just need to pop it open and plug in the old PC’s drive to copy over the user’s files. (Plus install Office, a printer, the management system app, etc…)

I finally have a decent desk here at home. I’ve gone from something five feet wide to two six-foot units in an L configuration. Right now, I have a TV, two monitors and the work laptop, my Mac and SIL’s PC on the desk and there’s still room for more, as well as space for the dog to curl up and not get in the way. Nice find for $200 at the used office furniture place. Yay!

I bought a Netbook last July. A couple times it has refused to boot up, but both times doing the battery dance and recharging it has worked. We’re on time number three and it’s Just Saying No.

I contacted the manufacturer through their webpage, they wrote back to call suchandsuch number to set up pickup. That sounded… complicated, given where I currently live, so I went to a local store, where one of the two owners turned out to be from Argentina (well, that’s a guess based on the accent so he could actually be from Uruguay, I didn’t ask), told me it looks like a problem from a part which in these Tiny Ones is part of the motherboard and that my best bet would actually be to send it to the Official Guys.

I’ve set up pickup for Monday (hopefully it’ll work well, I only have two hours of class) and I think I have a minicrush on the Argentinian for being such a totally nice guy… now let’s hope whatever it is can be fixed for less than a new 'book would cost! At least it’s in warranty time-wise and I don’t think it’s a matter of physical damage, so in theory it should be covered.

woohoo!!!

Last nights post that was eaten by hamsters:
I worked. I had to take my car in for it’s belt replacements, and to have a tire unscrewed. I’m $580 poorer. I went to the bar and watched the Canes lose to the Wings. I’m mostly pain free, apart from the occasional arthritis flair up.

Today’s post:
It’s gonna hit 62 degrees today. Of couse I gotta work.

Yay for Mr. GilaMonster and Co.!

Good luck kai!grope

Just a quick update…

I’m much better today.
And, Mr. GilaMonster will be flying into Cleveland at 10 tonight.

It’s rainy, windy, and ucky here.

Two pints of beef, Mahna? What’d they do; puree it so you could drink it?

I am at home, enjoying my RDO, and getting ready to tackle a few chores. I already paid on some bills, so yay me.

The homemade chicken and dumplings turned out pretty darn well. Mr. Taters loved them. It was the first time I had tried this particular recipe, so I was a bit nervous about it.

I suppose I should get the first load of laundry going now.

Ack. I meant beer, obviously. Apparently I was more hung over than I thought.

(though I did once end up with a beef martini when the bartender accidentally used tomato consomme instead of berry puree in my drink… it was… ummm… interesting)

Bleah, that sounds…not good, Mahna. Of course, I’m not a fan of Bloody Marys, so that would possibly explain my aversion.

I tried a Blood Mary last year on New Year’s day for brunch. It was grooooosssssss. I found out, though, that even my friends who enjoy Blood Marys thought those were awful that day.

The first load of laundry is almost ready to toss in the dryer. Then I can do the second.

Howdy Y’all! Four down and one to go! WOOHOO!!!

Special1, here’s another trout upside the haid for that pun. Bad pun! Bad! Bad! Bad! But funnee!

Yay for Mr. GilaMonster returnin’ home tonight!

Muppet I just figured that Beef was some weird Canadian alcoholic drink thing. :stuck_out_tongue:

I want a Bloody Mary now! Of course that would entail havin’ vodka and BM makin’s on hand which I don’t so I’m just sol ain’t I?

Gonna go to the Fish Place soon as OYKW gets here. We’re goin’ for an early dindin. Yep. Goin’ for the Early Bird. Yee and Haa!

Home - huzzah for long weekends!! It’s in the mid 50s outside and the sun is shining and the snow is melting. Tomorrow I have 2 roof/window/siding guys coming over to give estimates and an appraiser about our refi.

Last night, I was chatting on line with an old friend, and I directed him to Google Earth to see my house. I was amazed at the image! You could see the trailer at the end of the house by our bedroom (it was shot when we were remodeling the bathroom) and the van is parked at the other end next to the garage. It was a spring image because the forsythia are yellow. Very cool!

So, other plans - ummmmm. I dunno. SIL is taking daughter out for dinner, so it’s just me and my sweetie. We’ll see if he wants to go out, too, or if we’ll just do leftovers or pizza or sumpin’.

Happy Firday, all!!

Home! Long week this week.

Starting to get over this latest bout of Teh Sick but now the coughing up of gunk has started. Hubby still told me I was sexy when I was hacking up a lung this morning

Plans for the weekend…none…although I do need to clean at some point.

major blurfage. my sig to all

MOOOOOOM both window/siding/roofing guys are giving you estimates and appraisers? Dang! Life must be really tough for appraisers if they’re just bein’ given away! :stuck_out_tongue:

We’s back from an early dindin at the Seafood/Fish place. 'Twere good! We got an order of fried dill pickles. I know, I know, they sound ick but they are soooooooo good!

Glad the anxiety attack is subsiding, Pie. Also yay for Mr. GilaMonster being that much closer to home!

SO…that was a TERRIBLE pun! I liked it a lot.

Google has an amazing set of services, doesn’t it, FCM? I find myself using Google docs more and more for little things that I want to be able to get to from any computer (home inventory, budget stuff). I don’t put any personal information in the docs, but I like having a document that will be there even if my house burns down or someone breaks in and steals everything or all my computers are broken or I’m at a friend’s and want to look something up.

I’m home and my grumpiness level is slowly receding. I was quite grumpy this afternoon because my second long meeting of the day started with a lovely warm-up introduction. Fortunately, I was 15 minutes late for the meeting (due to the previous meeting which ended just before this one). But it was still about 10 minutes before we actually got to the point. There were 10 people in the group. It should NOT take 25 minutes to do introductions! Part of the grumpy is probably due to the fact that I didn’t get to eat a proper lunch. I’ve eaten a bit of dinner and have read the MMP, so life is looking less gloomy. Also, we have a long weekend.

Gotta go get something done…

Back later.

Just got back from Roadhouse - a fairly inexpensive steakhouse. My filet mignon was perfect! Mr Rebo had ribs, so we brought some home for the dogs.

I made a lemon pie earlier - it was very nummy!

Oh yeah - I bought new dishestoday! I’ve had hand me downs forever - they were Fransiscan, but probably 40 years old. Chipped and dishwasher-faded. I’m happy! I got them at 60% off.

Heh. GilaMonster and her children are at the airport waiting for Mr. GilaMonster’s arrival and two of the local news channels are there, too. She’s thrilled about being on tv again.

where’d everyone go?

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN It’s my Firday!!!

I’m here BioRosie!

CutiePie how’s GilaMonster handlin’ the fame of bein’ a teevee star?

Ok, guess I should feed rumbly tummy and purtify for irk.

Happy Saturday Y’all!
