Sounds like a good excuse for a party to me! If it’s a small-ish group, how about Ye Olde King’s Head? Great fish’n’chips, tasty bangers’n’mash, and those barbequeued robs Heloise got that time looked pretty snacky!

I just checked out the menu, and it sounds delish! I do love how they parenthetically claim that Welsh Rarebit has nothing to do with rabbits!
Depending on if it’s actually the 15th or not, and depending on the time, I could probably drive up and make an excuse to visit family as well.

Warning: I’m a big guy, and it’s all I can do to finish off the “Queen Size” fish’n’chips – when I’m actually able to finish it. It’s a pretty good portion. You’d have to be very hungry to finish the King Size!

If December 15 is no good for you guys (what with xmas being so close) I will be back in LA a few weeks later. I go back to Oz on Tuesday 14th January, I assume I’ll be in LA for at least a few days previous.
I so far have not much idea of what I’ll be doing when I get to America, but these dates are locked in stone.
I think the So. Cal. Dopers have had the largest Dopefest to-date – last October, IIRC. We seem to have, if not the most get-togethers of any region, then at least close to the most. Any excuse for a party, eh? 
(If this is a big one, we’ll have to look into a larger venue than The King’s Head.)
We have a couple of months. We can decide on a date later. Fridays and Saturdays are the best days, as some Dopers have been known to consume mass quantities of alcohol. But we’ve also had small gatherings during the week. If you’re game, let us know when you’re available. (Are you here from the 15th through 14 January? Or oare you leaving and then coming back?) We can work out a night that people can attend.
