An MMP road trip

Me too. I find sausage provides the bulk which tells my body that my stomach is full and doesn’t have too much crashable carbs in it.

Howdy. I usually drive. Hubby hates it, and I don’t mind it. It’s harder to figure out a drive now, what with my haid and all. When I was younger, I’d get sunflower seeds and a soda. Now I drink a soda or coffee and no snacks.

Roasted chikkie for dinner today.

We supped upon cubed steak ‘n gravy, smashed N.O.T., green beans and rolls. Yes, I cooked. Won’t be doin’ any cookin’ at least the next couple of days however. It’s all sammiches and take out. I’s tahrd. Been a loooooooooong day of gettin’ ready for tomorrow.

wet one, methinks your cat has developed opposable thumbs. :stuck_out_tongue:

ruble, we may need to go riding through the hills together.

nemo, McPhreys going out of business makes me sad. :frowning:

Yay butters!

Travelling, my preference is driving with a coffee or iced tea and a bag of nuts. Directions are by WAZE or GoogleMaps on the phone.

Today was wet and cold. Tomorrow should be better, but the rest of the week is supposed to be chilly. Sis and BIL will be here Saturday evening. Sis and I will go to heathenate whilst BIL installs a new radio/blue tooth in my car. Afterward, we will dine out and take the puppers to the dog park. Her pups are accustomed to having a back yard to run free in and they will be cooped up in the cab of a pick up or on leash for most of the trip.

Worked, came home. Making chipolte chicken with rice and baked squash.

with Rodney, Sid, and Meg.
Rod stole Megan’s heart away,
and I got Sidney’s leg.”

WOOHOOOOOOOO!!!1ONE!

Is there a non-Welsh Wales?:dubious:

Remind me not to road trip w/ you! …& open a window!

You of all people ask this? Duh…Campbell Conference.
Nappage has been completed. Dinner has been ingested. Need to clean up, go to the grocery sto (since I was away this weekend) & maybe do a load of lawn dairy.
Snowpocalype pending for Wed.

We had that old standby for supper when most of ones kitchen is on the porch. Slaw dogs. Quick, easy and minimal cleanup. This is an ordeal. I am purging. Too much stuff. Too much of everything. Dishes, pots and pans, utensils, silverware. You name it we have too much. I finished cleaning out all the cabinets but still need to wash them. I ran the self cleaning cycle on the oven. Did the fridge last weekend so that’s still good.

Back to irk tomorrow. The bug man comes by tomorrow. May as well have that done while all the crap is out.

It will be Sunday at least before I get my kitchen back together so we will be having take out and easy stuff for the rest of the week. Once all this is done we are hiring a cleaning lady. She is South American. Can’t remember where she is from but comes highly recommended by our doctor. It will be so nice to finally have another maid. The last one was slacking very badly at the end.

Night all.

I made pseudo kabob things with ground beef and grilled them.
Mrs. Plant (v.3.0) liked them.

We shall now retire to the boudoir. Sleep to follow soon!

Nitey Nite Y’all!

Back from trying to organize 36 8-9-10 year old boys and three other coaches who had different ideas on what they wanted to do. Somehow we all survived and things got done. Tired now and eating brausweiger sammiches because they are simple and I likes them.

Tomorrow I do the same thing with 8-10 year old girls, which could be three times worse.

Butters, congrats on the willpower. You will beat ol’ demon nicotine.

swampy, enjoy the disruption.

I’ve liked road trips since I was a very young child, just shy of five years old.

That was the summer my folks and I, and my younger sister, went on the first of our vacation road trips. It’s enshrined in family memory as “the Big Trip” We saw Yellowstone, Yosemite, and other national parks. My dad preferred scenery to amusement parks or historical sites.

I still take them, although they are shorter, and mostly in my own state. There’s more to see in Kansas than folks wouls suspect.

We ate a few meals in restaurants, but breakfast and lunch were picnic style, out of a cooler. For these ventures Mom would buy those assortments of single serving cereals, and I was firmly convinced they were better than the stuff in big boxes. I still take along a cooler, two actually, one for food and one for cold drinks.

Sometimes time equals money; the train has you captive longer. I’ve done a few shorter (inside PA) train trips and always look for a cheap rate and then plan the trip around it. I got Pitt-Harrisburg once for like $43 the round trip so we took the train to Harrisburg for dinner for my birthday.

We have a hall chair we call the Moose Paws with about that many coats on it. We both wear the same size but basically I have 5 favorites and the OW has five depending on conditions and if we’re driving or walking. Shoes I have three pairs and two boots, she has 3 and one boots. That is where we are reasonable. Right now we have one closet full of t-shirts, 10 feet more on hangers in the basement, 2 55gal trash cans of extras and back-ups and ------- I hate to admit this ------- about a dozen that won’t fit in the cans. More of half of them are freebies but basically we have more than a lifetime supply even if we live into our 80s and I have no plans or hopes of doing that.

Since the OW is going to Branson I am looking at available UPT and thinking some sort of adventure is warranted. The problem is my use-it-or-loose-it 4 days go away on April 1 and the weather is looking really sucky the next two weeks. :smack:

I had considered Bean Blossom (I will keep my clothes on thank you very much) but I am not sure what I’ll be able to afford time-wise at that point.

Well of course; it always snows around my birthday. Pretty much every freaking year. I’ve come to expect it.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 54 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 67 and rain/tstorms/apocalypse for the day. The rain should be upon us soon from the looks of the radar. Paintin’ starts this mornin’. YAY! I am ready to get phase one of da cave makeover under way. I shall attempt to check in from time to time. I think I can do a setup whereby I can still have wifi and be able to check in via tablet or phone. We shall see.

Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants to be fed. Then, onward into the day!

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to work.

 I have been remiss!

Happy ruble day!!!

It was 24° in our back yard this morning. WTF happened to spring?? Wasn’t it just 80° a week or so ago?? I am mightily displeased. MIGHTILY, I tells ya!

I need to remember to pick up my new glasses this afternoon. I meant to do it yesterday, but I brain-farted, and I didn’t want to go out again. So today… I hope…

I got an invite to my niece’s baby shower - the Saturday after Easter. I shan’t be attending because I’ll be driving all the way up there for Easter with Mom, and it’s entirely possible that I’ll be headed to FL the week after the shower. Too much to do and not enough time for all the driving. I’ll take her shower gifts to Easter dinner. And I won’t be missed - there’ll be tons of folks there.

My sister asked that instead of a card, we give a book with something written inside for the baby. I thought that was a pretty neat idea. So I gotta pick out a baby book. *Once Upon a Potty *was a big hit with my daughter when she was a toddler…

Onward into my day!

I went on a road trip/day trip to Quebec City this past weekend. I rode in a bus with the videogame orchestra.
I mentioned in the previous MMP that I dressed as Luigi for a Super Mario concert, and someone asked for a picture, so here’s one.

Happy birthday Ruble!

swampy, you might get bored watching paint dry, so head over to the liberry.

morning! I thought I posted earlier but I guess not.

Ruble Happy Birthday!
