well they are coming back… they were popular in the 60’s I think (70’s?).
They are rather comfy and keep my feet warm. But I can’t just shove my shoes on I have to untie them and tie them up otherwise I get them snug between my toes which can hurt after awhile…
My sister used to be obsessed with them, she has at least 30 pairs. Then she decided she didnt like them anymore. Anyone who doesnt mind used socks, I’m sure you’re more than welcome to them…
I had scads of them that I wore with my open toed platform shoes when I was in Jr. High. In fact, I still have a couple of pair from back then. When I can keep them away from my daughter, who now has scads of her own but mine are “cooler” because they come up past her knees and most of the new ones don’t.
The only time I have ever worn toe socks was once when I wanted to wear my snowboots, and the toe socks were the only pair I could find that went up past the top of the boots (to prevent chafing of my poor innocent leg). They kept migrating down, though. And the toe-bits were too big for my toes.
I love my toe socks–they’re the comfiest things imaginable. I’ve gotten the “oh! weird!” reaction many times, but those people just don’t know what they’re missing.
