An open apology

Nope, he’s not. But I do know he’s very supportive of gay rights.

He’s another example of a class act-and he’s also a Roman Catholic. (He’s very liberal, though.)

Joe and Jersey remind me of Wildest Bill very shallow, self-righteous and vain.

I think a lot of people confuse him with Rock Hudson on the gay thing. They did kind of look alike in that dark, handsome sort of way. IIRC, Rock Hudson was gay or bisexual.

Huh? Gregory Peck and Rock Hudson don’t resemble each other in the slightest. FTR, Peck has been married to the same woman for 48 years. Studio executives forced Hudson into a short-lived fake marriage to stave off rumors about his rampant homosexuality, but Hudson was definitely gay and not bisexual.

Anyways, back to the OP. We could discuss Greg Peck and Rock Hudson in another thread.

gobear, I meant they both have black hair/ were heartthrobs of the olden days. Not that someone would confuse them who saw them, but that stories might have criss crossed in the passage of time.

Sorry, Guin, but there don’t seem to be a lot of people on about the OP anymore. JC and JD are not returning apparently, and that makes this into a Joe and Jersey flame fest IMO.

Without the continuation of Joe’s comments on the apology, or an additional apology from Jersey this thread is effectively dead. Unless people want to go on bitching about them of course.

The problem is that on a message board the words are recorded semi-permanently, whereas in a traditional argument people might forget them and move on after apologies are made. That means that in the space of time that has passed, the angry words are still hanging out there.

You know, that’s the exact same way I feel about you.

I can add two more. Texican and Crafter_Man I believe also would subscribe to similar beliefs.

Whoa! Good zinger there, H4E! You sure got us!

Now try addressing some of the salient points herein. Or are you leaving again?

Esprix

Actually, to a certain extent, I can sympathize with Joe_Cool feeling that Eve isn’t really a woman. I feel the same way about Joe being a Christian.

His4ever, that assumes something about you that is as of yet unproven:

you can think for yourself. In order for someone or something to be credible or not, you must be able to intelligently consider it. As of yet you have shown that ability in 0 places. But don’t let’s get that in the way of you posting something pointless, irrelevant and unintelligent. If you never did that, your post count would be … er … what was that number I used earlier in this post?

Have you all noticed that she keeps following me into threads? Sometimes she even correctly anticipates what threads I’ll be in and posts there first, hoping to lure me in.

There’s only one conclusion:

She wants me.
< sigh >

This is never easy to say, babe, but it would never work between us. I don’t date people who’s idea of a long-term goal is to someday be almost as smart as phytoplankton.

I mean, I’m flattered, of course and it’s no wonder that you find me hot. But I’m sorry to say, it just wouldn’t work. We’re not even on the same rung of the food chain*

C’mon, hon. I know you mean well, but I just don’t respect someone who refuses to consider themselves a part of “Genus Homo” because you think it has something to do with MENSA-level gay people.

Might I suggest that you’d be happier with your own kind? Some sort of jellyfish or diatom or algae?

Fenris

*“Food chain”: It’s an evolution thing. You wouldn’t understand.

Not again, Esprix; still. She’s still leaving us. She just hasn’t made it all the way out the door yet. It’s one looooooooooooooooooooooooong slooooooooooooooooow boooooooooooooooooooring exit.

Monty, which member of our Goodbye, Farewell, and Don’t Pee in the Doorway before You Leave crew forgot to give her the customary good hard push?

Alas, devastated by yet another Wildean riposste from H4E!

Listen, hon, you showed your true colors by cheering on the Jew-hating, homophobic Dr. Chuckie, not to mention your moral support to those two Christian bullies, Joe_Cool and Jersey Diamond.

You sleep around and get hitched three times, but deny gay peol;el the right to get married once. You talk about love and Jesus, but all you demonstrate is hate and intolerance.

Frankly, I think you’re affiliated with the wrong religion. Christianity is all about love and compassion as exemplified by Jesus’s ministry, and it’s obvious that love and compassion are as familiar to you as tapshoes to a mermaid.

Have you considered converting to the Wahabi sect of Islam? You can ignore the passages of the Qu’ran that talk about peace and tolerance, since you already ignore those passages of the Bible, and get down to the things you really seem to enjoy: hating Jews, hating gays, and stoning sinners.

But gobear, don’t forget this:

She’s allowed to, because IT’S IN THE BIBLE. After all, if you can’t take the heat for your own asinine opinions, what do you try to do? Pin it on something else that can’t defend itself! It’s a stunningly childish move when pulled by some people.

BEsides, him first, His! Back off Fenris, or else!

I mean, I SAW HIM first.

Sheesh. I’m an idiot.

You sure it isn’t just your enormous crush on Fenris that made you nervous?

“Inasmuch as you do it unto one of the least of these, you do it unto Me.”

FWIW, I think Joe meant a sincere apology, and couldn’t resist the temptation to justify what he had said other than that, which had the effect of watering down his apology.

He has, of course, the right to his opinions, and in his view they’re founded on his beliefs. I differ strongly on the import of what Jesus had to say on this and other subjects with him and Jersey, but I have little doubt that they sincerely believe themselves to be right in thinking as they do, and that he thought himself, before he lost his temper, to be speaking with integrity.

Unfortunately, IMHO, he failed to show any sense of empathy or compassion towards others who may not have had his life experiences but other ones, with the consequences we’ve all seen.

His, it is completely inappropriate for me to criticize you in public, but allow me to draw your attention to Luke 6:27-45:

This is the measure by which I try to judge myself in what I have to say here and at the Pizza Parlor, and though I fall short far too often, it’s what I aspire to. I commend it to you.

You can think for yourself and express your views very effectively; I’ve seen it. And iampunha’s last gibe is almost a direct quote of things you’ve said about having to stand on the truths of Scripture.

So I’m asking you to do just that. Not on what the laws in the Bible have to say; that’s what the Pharisees stood on. Stand on the truth of the Gospel. And show your detractors that they’re wrong, by the person you are in reality.

Please remember that His4ever is a person with feelings too. I disagree with some positions she holds, but I’ve also grown to see her as someone who believes that they are doing something they feel is right. Sometimes, these things could be said in a different manner.

So, can I be His4ever’s jellyfish friend?
