One person suggested thunderhorn as a server

One person brought up he’d like lots of instance help and such.

So those are the results, if enough people really wanna go I’ll reopen it otherwise chime in here.

I was out trying to pry my laptop out of ITs grubby little paws and didnt get to vote=(

I was the one who suggested thunderhorn - an american server [sorry eu peeps, but I did hear a rumor that they were going to let us play together sometime in the near future…]

if it is going to be on thunderhorn, I could go alliance or horde, I love playing warlocks, but would be willing to make a priest or mage, or even a feral druid. Id be willing to be an officer or not as needed. I will admit I would prefer not to be an officer…

Thunderhorn looks like it fits all of the criteria.

I never could get the survey thing to work, btw, but not a big deal.

As for my characters - I’m not highly into raiding (ok, maybe cuz I never been on one). What I enjoy most is the profession work - tailoring, alchemy, etc etc - anfd helping to keep the members aided in that regard.

so Thunderlord?

Can we get a count on race/class and professions?

I usually play hunters, priests, & warlocks; herbalist/alchemy, tailor/enchanting, mining/jewelcrafting

ThunderHORN, I believe, not Thunderlord.

I tend to play hunters, rogues, warlocks and mages, in that order.

I usually start with two gathering professions and doing start crafting until I hit 40.

I use warlocks and druids. My professions are mining/eng and maybe JC, though I tend to stick with what I feel fits the class in my twisted RP mind. Engineering/Mining for my warlock ebcuase I can, but I usually go herb/alch for druids.

Undead is my favored race.

I may change my vote to ally though, not sure. It would tie the votes and require a tiebreaker. I say this because I feel I’ve exhausted all horde content.

ummmm, yeah, thats what I said… my fingers have a tendency to ignore me sometimes

did i mentioni’m still medicated??? =P

Anywho - Thunderhorn… Horde?

I prefer classes with healing ability. I’ve done Priest and Paladin; I’d like to try Druid or Shaman. I’m a casual player, and I rarely have time to do instances, so I spec for damage rather than healing. But I’m happy to heal whenever in a group.

I keep to two gathering professions for selling on the AH. I’ll trade raw mats to guildies in exchange for finished goods.

I just so happen to be trying to decide whether to play WOW. It’s not my first MMO, but I’d be a total N00b. Would I be welcome?

Me too. I would like try WoW, is there still room? Funny, this thread is i written in English, but I only understand about half of it.

Considering differing levels of play time, different time zones, and just the nature of the game I think it’s extremely unlikely that too many people would be interested. If everybody got hooked and ended playing for the next year something like 35 would be too much.

If I do resubscribe I think I’d be up for creating pretty much anything that’s needed.

What I meant is that it sounds like most of you are experienced WOW players. Are you hoping to only attract other experienced players for the guild, or are you interested in taking some new WOW players under your wings?

Me, I think I’d prefer Alliance for my first character, PvE. If I do this.

Well assuming everyone who answered the poll is “in” we have 14* members already. If the last 3 that answered (including you) want to try it out and like it, we have 17. Due to TZ differences and such you’re correct we may not have the largest, or most elite guild (certainly the most elitist though :p) but until (if) the guild fizzles out we can still have a good time I’d reckon.
*3 had to be purged due to them answering what I deemed to be too few questions to be counted (in two cases, zero were answered).

With me newbies are fine, it’s all about having a doper guild, this isn’t OMG speed run Sunwell (highest raid instance) in 13 seconds pros only recruitment discussion.

So we (iirc) have 6 for ally and 7 for horde so far, if I changed my vote ally would win, (not sure if I want to still). Snarky and the 5th could vote as well and we could see where that leads.

Oh, WOW isn’t hard to pick up. Leveling up is a learning experience, but if you group with some more experienced people, and listen to advice I don’t imagine there would be a problem. There are lvl 70s in raiding guilds that get by without being fantastic players so don’t be intimidated.

Personally I like playing with new players. I play a lot, but I’m pretty casual about it.

I voted for Horde but I don’t really care one way or the other.

You took the poll right? Then I think we still have a 6/7 split.

I missed the poll, but I’m in for either. I’m well versed in all the Alliance starting areas (except Draenei) So I can hit lvl 10 in just a few short hours. but I think it’d be fun to try some Horde.

The only other question I’d like to chime in on is the money. 10-60 is so much easier if you have plenty of bag-space. Even starting the game with just 2g helps so much before level 20. (About then you start getting enough for what you need.)

As for newer players, I love partying with newer players. Jump in, the water’s addictive!
Hey! I have a lvl 35ish bloodelf on the european emerald dream. I’d really like to play with other dopers.
Yup, that’s the same server I usually play at. (Also based in Oslo, curiously. You wouldn’t belong to, or have heard of, the Dream Catcher guild, would you?)

If we have beginning players, can I recommend that we start on a newer server?

Thunderhorn is 4 years old. The gates are open and the auction house will have twink prices for a lot of low-level gear. It’s also harder to find low-level PUGs on older servers.

We could start on Cairne which just went live last week. The gates are still closed, giving people who have never experienced the war effort a chance to go through it. And there will be lots of other low-level characters around. I checked the Cairne forums and it sounds like it’s trending toward a good horde/alliance balance. (Can’t check the census – it’s too new!)

Okay, I’m all for horde and a new server. And burning dog. That cracks me up.

Definately going to play either a Tauren (moo!) or a Belf. I’ve never been able to level up a Hordie because I’ve never had anyone to play with, and the whole WoW experience to me is about interacting with other folks, even if it’s just in guild-chat.

So, as I’m a self-proclaimed lore junkie, anyone know, of Tauren and Belfs, which one has a more ‘rich’ lore to their stuff?
