Just FYI - IME on new servers you always have the abundance of inconsiderates running around. the key is to hang in there because they will be weeded out - it just takes a few. Ignore button is your friend, guildies are your partners in crime

How the uck do I join a guild?
If you /join SDMB when you first log in, and then chat on that channel for a guild invite, anyone on that channel will see the request. Since we all have invite privileges, you should get one almost immediately. If you don’t, just wait a few and ask again. Occasionally we will miss that channel in the scroll, but that doesn’t happen too often.
Also, I know everybody’s probably very poor right now, but if we all drop a couple of silver into the guild bank now and again, it will add up pretty quickly and we’ll be that much closer to getting the first tab.
And wouldn’t ya know, just when I’m ready to get on and ask for a guild invite, my WoW comes up corrupted? I’m redownloading the client now…my CDs, for some reason, haven’t ever worked beyond the first few times.
I’ll be on eventually…pinkie swear!
Is there a place for us to donate money now or do we have to wait until we can scrounge up the 100g? I didn’t know there was anywhere to set the money aside until then.
Of course, after I trained today I had 60c left and had to sell some of my food to a vendor just to afford the bat back to Silverpine – so it’s not that urgent yet.

If you are already a guild member, you can use the Guild Bank, I believe. In Undercity, for example, the big faces on the corners of the regular bank are the Guild Banks. You should be able to just use them like you do the regular one.

Cool, I didn’t realize that we could put money in before we had a tab. I’ll start dropping change in whenever I’m passing through.
Tabards are completely cosmetic. There’s nothing in a tabard that makes your guild legit or makes you a legit guildmember. They’re just for show.
As long as the guild is a legitimately chartered guild that’s recognized by the servers, guildmembers should be able to use the Guild Vault.
Gah…disregard that. I thought you meant “tabard”…never even thought of the tabs in the Guild Vault. I’m not sure, actually, if that’s possible. Money doesn’t go in a slot, so it’s uncertain…

I did mean “tab” in terms of slots in the bank, not a tabard. But since I was at the bank anyway, I clicked on the guild vault to see what came up.
There are no slots to place items, of course - I think we need 100G for that. But indeed you can make a monetary contribution to our guild balance. Some of you already know this because there are a few G’s in there already. I tossed in what change I could spare at the time.
Did any of us do RFC this weekend, as advertised? If so I must have missed it.
I’m really enjoying the feel of the server at the moment, it’s enjoyable that most people are around the same level, that we’re ALL starting out together.
Though it was a crazy experience trying to level past five as a blood elf - blood elves here, blood elves there, blood elves everywhere!
One thing I’ve done is group with people at important spots - when you need to get someone’s head it’s better to just join up for a second than waiting as all five of you try to kill him only to have a last minute arrival ninja it anyway.
The only negative has been the general chat - but maybe this is just because lately I’ve been in the blood elf zones. Maybe it’s better near Taurens or Trolls or Orcs. (I’d say undead as well, but half the people I run into in the Ghostlands are undead)
And maybe it’s just me, but I’ve noticed more mining nodes/flowers popping than on other servers - maybe it’s the number of people playing that affects this? It’s been heaven for leveling mining though and My holy Pallie loved it!
Ah - I had two green cloth items I had wanted to donate to the guild for a low teen caster. If the bank won’t work, I’ll try offering in guild chat. 
Yes, Eversong Forest General channel is getting a reputation as the new Barrens General, i.e. home of the stupidest, most obnoxious chat on the realm. One thing to keep in mind is that this does improve as you move out from the newbie zones, as the kool kiddies drop off from boredom, dilettantism, altitis, etc.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with the guild bank (it just came out in patch 2.3, so it’s a fairly recent additon), the quick explanation is that it gives us a collective place to store money and items we want to make available to other guild members, such as the greens Lady of the Lake mentioned. Unfortunately, unlike the regular bank, there is no automatic free storage space in the guild bank, and we have to raise 100g to buy the first “tab,” which has 98 slots for us to fill with itemy goodness. WoWWiki has a breakdown of all the features, if you want to explore in depth.
I’d like to get the tab set up as soon as we can. So far we’ve just been using guild chat, but that’s limited to whoever happens to hear the offer, and it would be a lot easier to distribute the mats and greens we’re accumulating via the guild bank. It also helps if you list your professions in your guild note, because then we can look there and see that Soandso has tailoring, and might therefore have a use for those umpteen stacks of linen we’ve collected.
I just rolled Linai, a blood elf hunter, and got her up to level 5. I’ll be asking for an invite next time I play–probably tonight.
What times do you guys usually play? I’m only on this early because I’m home sick today–normally, it would be evenings and weekends.
