Annually (or less often, but regularly) revived threads (e.g. the Rudolph special thread).

What is the longest running annually revived thread on here?

The most obvious example is the Rudolph Christmas special thread that started in November 2000 and has been revived every year since.

I don’t recall when the mods stopped automatically closing all revived zombies, so I suppose that would put a hard date on the longest possible.

I’ll also mention Shoeless’s thread about his malfunctioning car clock, which malfunctions every leap year, which started in March of 2012, was revived for an update the next leap year in 2016, and could be revived every 4 years for as long as either Shoeless or Geneaholic own their respective cars. It has the potential for the longest regular interval between revivals, although it’s only been revived one time so far.

Are there any other examples of regularly revived threads?

Since 2000, Coldfire’s We shall remember thread is revived every year on May 5th.

That started in May of 2000 so it beats the Rudolph thread, which started in November of 2000.

This thread isn’t revived annually, but it’s been updated regularly since it started in 2008. Sadly, it will be closed this coming August.

Not in the same league with some of the threads already mentioned, but we have a thread about Alice’s Restaurant – or maybe several – that get revived every year about Thanksgiving time.
