Another Blurfin' MMP

Blurf.

Passing the word… Over on FB, Bumbazine posted that his mother died this morning.

Blurf.

Had a bad dream last night; probably just ate too much.

I was working (yay! there’s hope!) at a job where I did reports and answered the phone, but I had to do it from a hospital bed and write on one of those food-tray carts that roll & shift over the bed. The room had people in business casual working, answering phones, but I was the only one who had to work from a bed (new guy hazing?). The room had a big window over looking a city and as I was working/writing, I noticed people moving to the window & looking out. I looked up and out & I saw smoke rising from over the city in the distance.

I figured it was a fire and I went back to the report. Then I noticed a phone was ringing and nobody was around to pick it up. I wondered where everyone had gone, but I reached for it anyway. As I touched it, a geyser of black smoke shot straight up from the skyline of the city in the distance like a tube and I could hear someone calling from the elevator, “where’s my first name?”.

I hate bad dreams; it always starts your day off wrong.

I’m going to check to see if Bumbazine has a thread up yet. Losing parents is incredibly hard.

Also, coffee-jump-start to Spidey.

Executive decision has been made - since it looks like it’ll be another crabless day (gotta keep checking for another 45 minutes) we’re going to head to Waldorf and try to find some new sneaks for me. Oh yes, the retired life is one of excitement and thrills…

Phentramine works for me!

Blurf. This week has been almost a total loss. My back is mostly better, but now I’m dealing with soreness in the muscles that were taking up the slack when my lower back wasn’t working. I can’t wait to just go home and veg for two days.

Last night we went to the live Rifftrax show of Starship Troopers, which was the expected amount of fun. We got there super early because we know how fast the theater fills up and Roomie has some very definite ideas about stadium seating and where it is acceptable to sit. As always with the live events, I find it amusing that the people who show up five minutes before the movie’s supposed to start seem so surprised at how full the theater is.

We’re having another “wacky Friday” at the office–people with pink shirts/purple socks/crazy hairdos get entered into a drawing for a gift card. I do not need $25 that badly.

Happy Firday!

It’s a cool 62 degrees, the windows are open.

I overslept and am trying to figure out how to work and let dogs out at the same time.

My ear infection had cleared up but last night it came back and the pain kept me awake. Now my stomach hurts because I think I took too much advil. I don’t know how many I took, I probably shouldn’t keep the bottle by my bed.
I know Sah-son woke me up sometime to ask me to do something but damn if I remember what he wanted.

Catch up on what is going on later today.
I has a blurf.

I would so buy a set of those. I’m not blurfy today, just not quite firing on all cylinders.

I can haz Blurf?

Up and Cup Starting

I will have an interesting day today. Lunch with my Mom, help my computer geek get ready for the big yard sale w/random electronics and band practice tonight, woo hoo

Gotta go fill the cup starter

Happy Friday all

Jim

They are quite easy to improvise, Spidey.
Take a regular extension cord.
Cut of the socket end.
Peel the insulation of a couple of inches, and stick the copper into your ears.
Plug it in and you are good to go!

N.O.L. is et. Turkey ‘n cheese sammich, some chips and a Diet Poopsie. Power keeps flickerin’ here at irk. No tboomers in the area or at least not tboomin’ out so no idea why. ‘Tis a frawg strangler outside however. We are under a flash flood watch until Sunday. Rah. Lots and lots o’ rain.

If’n the power flickerin’ bidness keeps up much longer I just may take myself to da cave. It unnerves me and y’all know what a delicate little blossom I am.

I saw Bumba’s post on fb. Always tough to lose a parent.

Anyone in the office jump starting their brain?

Back from running [del]amok[/del] about. I’ve got replacement sneaks, some t-shirts, a new ironing board cover, and other stuff, and **FCD **got socks and some stuff for growing corals.

I came home to a message for an interview for a drafter job. I’ll call them once I finish my sammich.

**flytrap **- you crack me up!!!

Still gorgeous outside! Lovin’ this weather!!

MOOOOOM y’all scored quite the eclectic haul there.

flytrap the combined brain power of my entire orifice might cause a forty watt bulb to flicker ever so slightly on a really good day. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh and howdy from da cave! I made the executive decision to come home a little while ago. Also, I won my war with Mediacom. GO ME! I have new little digital box thingys and they all work. I also have a twenty dollah credit on my account for aggravation. SCORE!!!

Pizza and hot wings for dindin because it’s eat like a sixteen year old boy night here at da cave.

I agree with FCM this has been the best weather.
Windows wide open, good sleeping weather.

Irk had been irked, dogs let out, medicated and fed. I only brought in part of their trashcans being that we are down to one trash day a week and they had five out at the curb. I brought two in, I’ll get the other three tonight. I was feeling kind of queasy and shaky since I hadn’t eaten anything and my earache has got me a little nauseous.
I still have some ear drops so it’s back to stuffing cotton in my ears.

Earlier today, I sent an email to the guy who had the drafting position to fill last month - he’d asked me to come for an interview, but I had already accepted the crabber job. However, I’d saved his email, and since I knew they were still advertising the vacancy, I figured I’d give it a shot.

I heard back from HR - in fact, they called while we were running [del]amok[/del] errands. I also had an mail with an application. Bottom line, I’ve got an interview scheduled on Tuesday. Yay! The pay is a weensy bit less than I was making at my last drafting job, but not enough to scare me off. The drive is a bit longer than I’d like - still in this county, but at the other end. But I should make more than enough for my cruise next year, which was the point of re-employment in the first place. So yay!

Considering how long this position has been empty, I’d be surprised if I didn’t get it.

I have survived the day and am sitting here alone, just the way I like it. It’s kinda weird being around people all day after not really having done so on a regular basis for the last 10 years. I talked to RT on the phone and my dad a little bit, too, but now I just really want to be left alone. This sort of makes me a bad person because one of my BFFs just called and I didn’t answer. The best news of the day is that RT will be home either tonight or tomorrow which is awesome because I haven’t seen him in two weeks. Yay!

I don’t think it makes you a bad person. I love my alone time, and suddenly having to interact with people after a long period of being by yourself a lot is jarring. And sometimes, I don’t answer the phone just because I don’t want to answer the phone. Enjoy your alone time and don’t feel guilty about it.

MOOOOOOM appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed re the gig.

StickyBuns ain’t nuttin’ wrong with alone time. Like Drae said, sometimes I don’t answer the phone cause I don’t want to talk. Sometimes voicemail is our friend.

Pizza and wings et. ‘Twas good. It’s a dreary Firday evenin’ and both of us are kinda drowsy and yawny. I think it’s a combo of the irkweek and the weather.

Yep another funfilled evenin’ in swampland.

Anyone heard from Spidey lately?

Supper was quick and good - burgers and fries. **FCD **is doing the dishes - I think I’ll keep him!

He’s going on a bike ride tomorrow, so I’ll be without adult supervision. Oh, the possibilities…
