Another Blurfin' MMP

Blurf.

Wet. Again. S’posed to dry out later though, so hopefully I’ll get some gardening done, even if I can’t do anything much else, 'cos it’s sunday, and all the places I need to go to/phone are shut. Bah.

Did at least get to go play with bees yesterday, despite everyone saying we weren’t going to be going in the hives- one of the guys there is somewhat bloody minded about things, and is one of the most experienced people there. He decided that despite the facts that a) bees are tetchier in August than, because the population is really high, but there’s actually not much nectar around, so they’re bored and guard the nest, b) they’re grumpier when it’s raining, which it was, and c) several of the colonies were really bad tempered anyway, he was there, so he was going to go do stuff in the hives. I’m surprised I didn’t get stung, but he did, several times… I just got bee paint spilled down my trousers; that is, not paint for when you want a picture of a bee- paint for when you have a bee, but it’s the wrong colour.

Happy Sunday.

It’s a cloudy 67 degrees.

I have no clue what I am doing today.
I have to let out, fed, medicate and scoop.
Irk of course.

I’m tired and want to sleep.

Nineteen more days and counting.
Hoping nothing goes wrong.

Afternoon, mumpers - happy Sunday! It’s been a busy weekend at Casa Fae, since yesterday was oficially black cat appreciation day, I spent an hour and a half of it getting a lovely black cat design tattooed on my back. Took a while to get it finished but everyone in the tattoo shop thought it was really good - I have still got it covered with a greasy coat of nappy-rash ointment and cling flim so it isn’t going to be on display until Tuesday as it has to be covered for three days. I have to change the cream and cling film three time a day for three days and then just keep applying the cream until the area starts to look normal again. That is not always easy when you’re in the house alone…but I am inventive and devious so I have managed it fairly easily.

I met a friend for lunch yesterday after I’d been inked, then we went to the cinema to see the Wolverine film - not a great story but it was a good enough film and the rest of the cinema patrons were relatively well-behaved.

Today I have been productive. I was up early, dyed my hair, changed the stuff on my back, did the vacuuming and transferred nearly 100 photos off my camera to my photo site so that I’ve got room for my next lot of holiday pics.

Did I mention that I’m off on holiday in nine days?

MMMOOOOOOOMMM!!!, that’s a heavy workload. So why are you playing Candy Crush?:dubious:;):stuck_out_tongue:

**doggio **- I can’t do any work till my sweetie gets up, which he has now. so :stuck_out_tongue:

BooFae - are you coming here again? You do seem to holiday in the States an awful lot

Thank you Doggio (I think)

I have to get up and get moving even though I don’t feel like it.

I have to return a key to a client and take my neighbor down to meet her and her pups. I guess I’d better call the neighbor and see what time is convenient for her.

Time to get moving.

Good morning, Mumpers.

Spent time in the garden yesterday, then slept and watched stuff online because I wasn’t feeling very well.

Midget, I’ve been in a similar situation with a family member; it’s hard and embarassing and not fun.

It gets a bit easier over time because you figure out strategies for not letting it get to you. One thing that helped me was focusing on not trying to understand the person. What she’s doing makes sense to her - and only to her - so it uses up energy you need for other parts of life if you try to understand. It’s very hard, but you can try to just smile and nod no matter how outrageous she gets.

Also, try to keep conversations with her brief and infrequent. Don’t let her take up more emotional space in your life than absolutely necessary.

I wasn’t good at this for a long time, but slowly worked on it and it got better.

As for her interactions with others: even if she only knows the people through you, keep in mind that her behavior is a reflection on her, not on you. In many cases, others will find her behavior a bit odd, but won’t find it nearly as upsetting as you do because they don’t see the whole picture of her behavior.

In any case, hang in there and keep venting when you need to.

Need to get more done in the garden, the some irk and some cooking for the week. Yay!

Hugs all.

GT

Many thanks, gardentraveler.

Howdy Y’all! Home from deheatenization Luterun style. N.O.L. is all under control so I can relaxate for a bit. I feel it shall soon be Bloody Mary time.

Rosie, not this time, just for a change I’m giving Canada a try. The plan is five days in Vancouver then a drive towards Calgary stopping in Salmon Arm, Lake Louise and Banff, a night just outside Calgary in Airdrie (visiting a friend) then back by air to Victoria for a couple of nights and a final night in Vancouver before Mr Branson flies me home again.

Swampy, I think cocktails are a perfect idea and by the time you’ve made them it will be gone 5 o’clock here!

I’m not getting email notifications for some reason.

It’s gray, cloudy and cold. I tried to go up the mountain, but the trail was slick and I didn’t want to end up in my mom’s version of “Hall of the Mountain King”* so I didn’t go up very far. Got some Bojangles for breakfast/lunch.

Bobbio, while you have your EMT hat on you might be able to answer this question for me. The other day the fire truck went by me and it had a load of 2X4’s. What possible purpose could they serve?

*In which the dwarves are walking down the mountain, running down the mountain, running faster down, lose control and start falling down. By the crescendos at the end they’re bouncing off the rocks and end up in a pile at the bottom of the mountain. Listen to the music as you read this and visualize it. You will laugh.

Hello everyone! Been a few days since I checked in with y’all. I apologize for that. I hope everyone has been doing well, {HUGS} to all those who need/want them

I haven’t been sleeping very well, and work has been sort of busy. I keep having nightmares. Over and over, really stressful dreams that keep waking me up in the middle of the night, leaving me very tired throughout the day. My eyes are sore and gritty, and I’m grumpy. I’ve been getting more than my fair share of blurf lately.

3 more days on the boat, then I’m back on land for my 28 days off, so I’m excited for that. Very excited to see my friends, and the special guy I started dating just before coming onto to the boat. We’ve been chatting online and on the phone nearly every day, and we’re both very excited to see one another. We have a couple of nice/fun dates planned for the couple days after I get back, so yay!

Other than that, I just REALLY wish I could shut my dreaming off for a night or two, and get a decent night’s sleep. I hate my dreams :frowning:

If it was a rescue truck, they use a LOT of lumber as cribbing for overturned vehicles and collapsed buildings. Or, should they be a volunteer squad, they may have a construction project back at the station.

Whew! Ten towels are now hemmed and ironed to make them as rectangular as possible. Flour sack cloth is a fairly loose fabric and it’s easy to get out of square. I think my towels are pretty good. I also ironed/set the two Amish towels that the girl at the shop requested, so I can take them tomorrow.

The rain has stopped, but it’s still soggy and overcast out there. I’m taking a break before I finish knitting the hat I started last night.

Hey everyone and Happy Sunday

Drew I must compliment you on your excellent Pit thread, job well done lad

Had an evening with the Hippies last night came home and slept for more that 9 hours.

That is all I have

Cheers all

Jim

Yes, drew’s pit thread was one of the best I’d ever seen.

My tongue still hurts from when I chomped down really hard on it yesterday. Boourns.

My mother hasn’t showed up at our house today. Yet. I hope it’l stay that way.

I hope to get back to work on crafts in a few minutes, and listen to my new CD. Well, a secondhand CD, but new to me.
