Another conservative caught with his pants down

This time Steve Stevlic, head of the Chicago Tea Party and one of the organizers of TeaCon 2011.

Here is the story:

So, am I the only one wondering if the prostitute in question was male or female?

Also, I got a kick out of this comment that someone posted to that story:

It’s not hypocrisy, it’s job creation!
D’oh! I’m too slow…

I can’t believe you left wing liberal scum making such a big deal over a politician getting a blowjob. We Republicans know that the fallibility of an individual’s private life in no way reflects on the validity of their professional stance.

Cite?

Al Gore will be relieved to hear that.

Bill Clinton, perhaps.

Unless it happens to be a wide stance.

Heh. It’s the advantage of being the party of loose sexual morals: when we do it, it’s not hypocritical. Just like it’s not hypocritical when Republicans take massive bribes from corporations.

Well, if wasn’t paying for the blow job…

If he was arrested at 6800 W Cermak (per the mugshot), it was most certainly a female streetwalker (undercover cop) that he tried to pick up.

Everytime something like this comes up, I always wonder why would a high level public official seek hookers in the first place ? Rich, powerful, often reasonably handsome/charismatic… if they’d just gone to the average singles bar they’d get all the tail they could possibly handle. But no, it’s gotta be the hooker in the sordid alley with the candlestick.

I don’t get it. I really don’t.

Just so we’re clear here, are you making a joke about the hypocrisy of pointing fingers at a Republican getting a blowjob… from a hooker… which he got arrested for by the police… when the whole Clinton shtick is categorized as no big deal by Libs ; or a more intellectually honest joke about the fact that the very concept of sex scandals in politics is stupid, especially when coupled with blind partisanship ?

I honestly can’t tell.

It looks to me like he’s actually taking a jab at Republicans. But this is Scylla, so I’m confused.

Eh, sometimes you accidentally stab yourself. What are you gonna do?

Someone will be in in a minute to derail the thread into a discussion of the definition of “hypocrisy”.

I’m starting to believe conservatives should have their pants stapled on at birth.

I think Scylla’s trying to pretend that we’re hypocrites for scolding this fine, upstanding conservative, Steve Stevlic, for patronizing prostitutes while we blow-off the conservative scolding of Bill Clinton for having consensual sex with a non-prostitute. Also, Scylla’s ignoring the fact that what we’re actually doing is laughing at Steve Stevlic for chastising someone else’s marital affairs while being an adulterous john himself.

Then partying with hookers would be ordinary behavior.

I feel people should be held to the moral standards they espouse. That’s why I felt Eliot Spitzer needed to resign when I didn’t think there was cause for Bill Clinton to do so.

But anyone who condemns other people for extramarital sex, like Stevlic has done, deserves to be condemned if he engages in extramarital sex.

You pay them to go away after it’s over. You can also pay them to do weird things. And you can more easily abuse them or feel morally superior during the act.
