Sorry to all you fans of George, but the NY Post says he’s not doing too well…
Damn.
I thought I heard/read that George had been diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme. If so, this is an especially virulent cancer with a poor prognosis. Mean lifespan from diagnosis to death is, IIRC, about 11 months, with only a statistical handful living beyond 24 months. Promising treatments may be available in 5-10 years, but the state of the art in medical treatment today is terribly disappointing.
I remember hearing a few days ago that Paul and Ringo had gone in to see him for a few hours - basically saying goodbyes. Don’t know if this is true or not, though.
George was always my favorite - if anything because he seemed very willing to be influenced by other cultures in his music. He will be missed.
I’m really hoping its not true. I’d wait for a second source. I know it doesn’t look good, but he’s been pronounced “dead” in the press before…
Never underestimate the will to live… here’s hoping he pulls through, but more than that, here’s hoping he doesn’t suffer more than he needs to.
Poor George. Well, it happens to the best of us.
Thanks for the music, guy.
Unfortunately the tabloid press has proven to be pretty accurate when reporting celebrities on their deathbeds. This is rough…what a bloody shame. Cheers George, and say “hullo” to Ronnie Lane and Graham Chapman for us.
I hope this is not true, just an evil rumor, but it dosent look like it.
