GH has revealed that he has terminal cancer and expects to die soon. He is 58 years old.
This is just… devastating.

Strange, there’s no mention of the story on the BBC website. I know he was recently treated for a brain tumour and before that lung cancer (and before that he was stabbed by an intruder at his house). If it’s true then that’s even sadder; he’s not had much luck in the last year or two.
I think it just hit the wires.

I don’t know how I’d react to the same news if it were me. He’s taking it very well. I’d probably go insane from depression. He is very inspiring to me right now.
Apparently George Harrison’s issued a written statement denying the story, calling it a fabrication “conjured up by the National Enquirer, the Globe, and the Daily Mail.”
I was immediately suspicious when it hit the news- All the reports said that he’d told George Martin he was dying soon. Well, George Martin is a class act, and I couldn’t imagine him blabbing to the tabloids, it just isn’t done.
There was areport on the BBC including an interview with Harrison about 2 or 3 weeks ago. He mentioned that he was receiving treatment in a Swiss clinic for cancer, although I’m not sure exactly what kind. Hasn’t he had throat cancer before?

Well, other than the lung cancer and the brain tumor and being stabbed in the lung, he’s fit as a fiddle.
