Good riddance. I’ll be honest, I don’t understand the ‘what a shame, he seemed like a good Congressman/President etc’. thinking.
If his sense of judgement is that far out of whack, who knows in what other areas is his judgement impaired, etc, and having our congressmen / presidents etc be open to blackmail and such seems like a Bad Idea.

I agree. And it’s not just an issue of poor judgement. Weiner must have known he would get caught but he was apparently unable to stop himself. That inability to control himself disqualifies him from holding any significant public office.
As someone who lives in the district he represented, he was doing a decent job. Better than our current rep (but she is very very junior, so that probably plays a bit into it). That said, like many, any of my support for him disappeared after the first scandal. So yeah, he seemed like a good congressperson right up to the point I (and many other NYers) found out the truth. Obviously now we know better, and while he did try to latter run for mayor, he didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of actually winning.
I thought I remembered seeing the quote of exactly what AW texted to the 15 year old somewhere last year but I couldn’t find it. But I found this gem from 2011 - Bill Maher and Jane Lynch doing a dramatic reading of Antony Weiners Facebook exchange with Lisa the Blackjack Dealer. It’s hysterical.
And then I went back and found some of what he said to the 15 year old. It was " I would bust that tight pussy so hard and so often that you would leak and limp for a week".
I’ve gotta admit, I remember the part about limping for a week but the part about leaking is weird and I’m not 100% sure what he meant. I’m pretty sure ( maybe??) but I don’t even want to think about it. Maybe it was an autocorrect thing.

Weiner didn’t even sound very articulate or creative in his dirty texting. Jeez, this guy wanted to be Mayor? I guess that bar is pretty low, however.
Only 21 months. I sure hope he doesn’t get any chances to revive his political career when he gets out. But who knows? Newt Gingrich made a sort of come back and he was a real piece of work in his own way too.

Well, we ended up with Bill DeBlasio, so yeah, the bar was pretty low. That said, and I repeat, he never stood a chance. He was trying the Thomas Jefferson Johnson tactic (“The Name You Know”), but was failing at that because everyone knew his name as “The Perv Congressman Sending Twitter Dick Pics”.
When you’re last name is Weiner, you’ve got a tough row to hoe in terms of getting people to forget that.
BTW, why isn’t that name pronounced WINE-er.
